After getting 100+ books graded, mainly golden age, I have encountered quite of few label issues recently..
Yes I get a return label to send back for correction, but this many wrong labels makes me wonder about quality control..
-Two books had swapped labels..
-Books without level of restoration noted in top LH corner..
-A book label that says both amateur and professional resto..

You can have both amateur and professional restoration on the same book.

Wow, awesome books, I'm sure if you send them back in they will reevaluate the books

Wow, that's a little unexpected from CBCS. Sorry for all that inconvenience happening to you. BTW, welcome to the forum!

Understood, but I do not think this was the intention of the label..

Thanks !
A random mistake now and then I can understand, when it is 6 to 8 issues to deal with, that is not acceptable..

Yeah that doesn't quite seem right, labeled as profession resto and then getting an amateur resto designation.

Correct, but with the number of books I have had to successively deal with, it is annoying, I need to be on the CBCS payroll !

Great books! First time seeing them forget to put the restored notation on above the grade. I hope you share the comics from your submission and the full covers of these once they're corrected.

Some nice books, congrats on your collection....

As for the label regarding restoration for me it makes perfect sense

What i see is.....it designates the more heavy handed of the two restorations done as slight/med amateur restoration

Further down in the label it also designates the detection of professional restoration, which had little if any effect for the grade given the other factors.....as color touch, pieces added etc.

With both forms of restoration present, I guess the question becomes how then do you feel the label SHOULD have appeared?

You definitely want to denote and take into account both types, although they each impact differently and the amateur work more adversely in this case, given all the factors would have affected the grade more.

to my eyes it was handled perfectly given the variables.....how should it have been done then?

my thoughts exactly; I see no issues with the designations.

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
...but it doesn't note the "more heavy handed of the two restorations" ? The heavier restoration should be described not just labeled above the numeric grade.

All of the grading companies (even...gasp...PGX) are completely slammed. I'm sorry this happened to such great books. Both of the major grading companies are quick to take care of these things, but I hate having to put the books in the mail again.

Plus, if you have had over 100 books graded, you are operating on an over 96% success rate.

I had (2) missed labeled slabs and (3) cracked slabs, I contacted Kendra Hayden, she said send them back, Which I did and I got credit for my postage and insurance. I got them back in less than (2) weeks once CBCS received them. Very easy.

Honestly, given the crush of submissions going on I am expecting to get some labeling errors in my latest submissions. Unless I am planning to sell them quickly, my plan is not to send them back immediately to become a part of the crush again. I would try to get authorization to send them back at a later date when things have calmed down a bit.

@theCapraAegagrus CGC just takes twice as long to make their mistakes and three times as long to correct them. Nothing like sending in a $10k book walk through and having them take 2 months to fix the error.

The Miss Fury 3 label is confusing. The middle part implies that there is only professional restoration and lists what it is (or a partial list, since it says 'includes'). But the top left says there is amateur resto as well (or only?). So what's the amateur work, or is there none and it should say professional?

Or if you read in the opposite order, the top corner says there is amateur resto, but none is listed in the middle part. If the amateur stuff gets priority, and that's why it's over by the grade, why isn't amateur stuff listed in the middle? You would think that would be what people want to know about since you put it over by the grade.

Understood..
I have been working with Daryl Hayden, he sends a Fedex label via email in which to return the books.. he has not been the most responsive..
For a one-off that is ok, when you are talking a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time that is annoying to say the least..
If the collector had other plans for the books (sale/trade) the resubmission to correct pretty much delays everything..
