Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user

I have noticed that while I am still losing auctions, I am losing them for less money. The gap between what I would pay and what they are closing for is shrinking.

So either you are being conditioned by the higher prices, or prices are coming down? Or 3rd option is that you are focusing on stuff that less bidders are going after?

I think it is a little of all three, but not much of #3.

Do record sales only happen at comiclink, HA, and CC? Seems like we had some discounts at MCS.

Thats a good question, I would like to know myself. It seems like all of the big comics get a crazy price on day one so I just kinda look at them and am like "oh it was a nice thought while it lasted"

Record sales often happen at MCS.....And you can still snag other books in their auctions on the cheap, if you know how to buy.

Here's one good example of a raw book graded by MCS at 4.0 (close look of the scan shows it wasn't undergraded, note the tanning line on edge of right cover, spine wear etc.s

Few days later, I won a CGC 5.0 OW/WP slabbed copy of this book for $54 on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/164905909513

I'll be listing the CGC 5.0 slab at above the raw 4.0 MCS sold auction price on eBay, once it arrives in a few days.

Just paid for it, along with 2 other slabs I won from that seller, a few minutes ago.
