Membership Drive and Tag Cleanup14964

Looks like 2022 changes will make it more important the ever to have a robust marketplace on a forum like this. Gonna be important to develop more trust relationships with more people. Relationships that would put them into the Friends and Family category if you know what I mean. What would you guys think about a membership drive to bring in more buyers and sellers? The main thing I do is reach out to someone after I've bought from them on Ebay, make sure they are aware of the forum and suggest that they join it with a link to their Ebay listings. Not sure if this has worked or not. Anyone have other ideas for recruiting more members? Maybe if we hit a goal we can have an Ice Cream Social? Everybody just go buy themselves an Ice Cream on the same day and feel good about it?

People complain that the forum is not well organized for selling because of the line-item structure. But we do have a tagging and organizing system right there on the left side of the screen. I forget to use it and I'm sure others do to. I just created two thread auctions on Sunday and never even thought about the tags. Which means I'm also not using them to find sales threads. I'm wondering if there is anything we can do to make it more useful to facilitating sales? Or do we just need to better remember to tag our sales threads in particular, and maybe remind each other when we forget? Maybe there should be a few main topic threads at the top and we should try to remember to tag any new thread with at least one of them?

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I was going to suggest getting better use out of the tags, but you already brought it up. Maybe they could highlight them, or if someone hits post without choosing any it could ask if you would like to use them?

That said, I never use the tags to search either. I'm on the forum too often and usually remember if something is that tempting.

Nothing constructive to contribute, but I don't know about everyone else, but I read the forums primarily on my phone. The tags aren't even visible unless you turn the phone to landscape mode.

I didn't even know about tags until I dropped my phone...

@Bronte But how would you feel about winning an Ice Cream Social for the entire forum? Or maybe a Popcorn Party?
Sorry to anyone who hasn't had kids in school, the humor could be lost on you.

Maybe I need to sleep on it, but I don't have kids and I'm trying to see what you are saying.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use tags, I was just saying it's out of sight and out of mind because of the platform I use.

I know exactly what you mean and I like your thinking!

This is a good idea and I'm all for it but there's still some risk. Brings back my trade incident with a former longtime boardie who vanished into thin air.

So, anyone got ideas on recruiting new members? Anyone open to reaching out to buyers and sellers from Ebay? I mentioned the forum a few times both before and after transactions. My messages never got blocked by Ebay. CBCS could consider putting a forum invite into packages they are sending back to customers. Or they could add a forum invite to the emails when submissions are recieved. I was using them for about 5 years before I even realized there was a forum. I know joining the forum has significantly increased my number of submissions, I imagine that's true for most regulars here.
