| This is one of those "why the hell did they do that?" books. I purchased this book not too long ago from my LCS while it was still in the slab,... I liberated it and placed it along with the label in a Mylites2/Fullback. Notice the almost spine length single strip of tape. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this book other than the obvious upper right corner crease, rounded corners, etc. But the cover and inside pages are solid with the staples. Evidently someone figured they were doing the book a favor. We've all seen it before.   |

There's a lot of nice looking pre-code horror books in this thread so far. Congrats to you all. I love the covers of these old books. I only have a couple pre-code EC comics right now, but I thought I share one of them. It's not high grade, but I'm glad to have a copy. |

| @GradedKeyComics: Grade isn't everything. My Crypt #33 is in similar condition, but the origin of the Crypt-Keeper in the deliciously-titled "Lower Berth" is one of the best EC yarns of all and worth having in any grade. | ||

| Two of my (filler) Pre-Code Pity Purchases that I inspected prior... Cover is detached and there are 2 extra staples in the book, and other stuff. But it presents really well in a Mylites2. In 10-12 years when I begin selling books again, I'll probably throw this one in as a Freebie! The guy on the cover has some very serious issues to deal with!  Another detached cover (filler) of a copy I don't own yet, and will probably be another Freebie later on. Interesting thing is the cover appears to be as fried as the user.  |
