Does anyone have an opinion on the safer way to get your books to CBCS? Mail or drop-off at a con? I've been wanting to have my X-men 1 re-holdered. But it makes me super anxious to have it out of my hands, as it's my one book that's probably worth 20x more than anything else in my collection. |

I've been using USPS flat rate boxes for several years and have never had a problem. Just take photos of the book and insure it.

It has been mentioned that if you do registered mail they pretty much white glove the package until it's signed for. Since it has to be locked every step of the way, it isn't man handled like typical boxes. You might want to go that route if your anxiety is going to go bonkers over it. |

I was at the PO the other day and was told that registered ia a little cheaper but you can't use the flat rate box and you must use the brown paper tape so they can stamp on it...The stamp won't adhere to plastic tape.

I would say whatever method is only as safe as however it will be returned to you. I would match whatever return shipping option you choose. I would also wonder if it is worth making a day trip to Dallas. I know they have a 1-Day option for grading but I wonder if arrangements can be made for a same-day reholdering |

If you can drop them off at a Con, it’s the best option for sure. When I ship, I put every book (bagged and boarded, of course) into the snuggest fitting toploader I can. Then pack them like they’re going through a war zone. I usually do Priority, since my submissions are usually in the hundreds as far as value instead of the thousands. If we’re talking thousands in value, definitely go Registered. Of course, that’s your call. |

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. | xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I would say 1) Drop off in person at the office if you can 2) Give to them at a con (you might package as well as they do, but at least CBCS is on the hook sooner) 3) Ship registered 4) Ship any other way |

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. | drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
I prefer to drop off at cons and avoid mailing books when possible.
