I bought these two in the last couple months. The Rivets label probably helped me get a price I was able to accept. What do you guys still have sitting around with Rivet Labels?

I ditched the rivets once CBCS unveiled there new slabs. It seemed an appropriate time. Looking for them to get a deal is a good idea though.

Claremont Red Rivets from a FCBD event before I knew what grading/slabbing was all about.

And some yellow rivets (From Stan’s last Canadian comic con)

@EbayMafia sorry to dissapoint but who stated they were verified? I witnessed them! The only 3 red labels I have are for 1 Detective Comics 475 signed by Marshall Rogers and 2 Michael Turner books a Witchblade and a World War Hulk.

I have to wonder how many people are kicking themselves HARD because they passed on a book prior to the current market, all because of a piece of paper. Could it be more than those happy collectors who don't care what the label looks like?
Weird.

We've got rivets, yes we do!
We've got rivets, how 'bout you?

1-2-3-4 we've got more than you can score.
5-6-7-8 we've got more than you can take.
9-10-11-12 we've got more than you can sell.

I’m pretty sure I’ve reholdered all my rivet label books. I got a good deal on my ASM300 a few years ago, likely because of the rivets.

@SpiderTim If you don’t mind sharing what grade is your Detective 475?

My first ever graded book ended up with the rivets and red.

CBCS was at a show, and didn't clearly explain how things worked. Gave the book back, told me it was a verified signature. Weak.

I won't swap it out though due to the memory of the whole thing, even though its absolutely hideous.

I only got a couple of orders in during the brief rivet age. Some have been resubmitted after additional signatures so I only have a handful of rivets left

Later resubmitted

Stolen

I can't decide what's worse, the rivets or Bishop's mullet.

Probably has a "riveting" backstory though. Someone must own the idea. I'm guessing they visualized it differently than it came out on paper.

I think Steve mentioned at one point that the rivet label was from someone who no longer works at the company. Basically, while Steve was out, this person just went ahead and put them out. I might be missing some details but that might be the gist of it.

I sent a bunch off for reholders. They aren't bad in person, but they are ugly A.F. when taking a picture of them. I think these are all I have left or have pics of at the moment. I want them reholdered but don't want yellow labels for unwitnessed signatures even though I saw Zeck sign them.

Correct...I believe Steve was on vacation when they decided on this horrendous label. Everything about it is bad.

Lol, it's straight out of my childhood bible stories: For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property...Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them..."You wicked and slothful servant!", and he cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness.

@esaravo Seeing that EC books in the Rivet label made a tear fall from my eye. Just something even more grotesque and unnatural about it on Golden Age books.

And, because I can't help but contradict myself...here's one where the Rivets don't bother me at all, I think this label is just fine for this book. Forgot that I had my own Red Rivets book.
