That label was actually produced, but was not in hand when the first press release went out, so this image was a mock-up used for the first press-release.

The reaction we received on that label was not favorable, so there was a complete redesign overnight before we ever even received this label from the printer. Aside from a couple of sheets, all of them were trashed upon receipt. Only one of them was actually put into a case for us to see internally. That slab is somewhere in my personal collection.

This thread is a good archive.

I'll add another little-known tidbit. You're aware of the first and second generation CBCS slabs.
Did you know there was yet another unique CBCS slab that was created and discarded BEFORE the G1 slab?
It's actually tied to the logo on the label in the quoted label above.
The CBCS logo was engraved into the actual slab.

@SteveRicketts So, any new updates planned for the current label? Maybe get some with flames, lasers, or lightning bolts on them.

Or maybe even for culinary delights.

That might actually be cool.

You mean like doughnuts, pizzas, or ice cream cones?

This is killer!

That CBCS engraved logo is next level cool! I'm sure there was a cost consideration at the time to not move forward with this but I would really hope that this could be put on the table for the next generation slab. The CBCS slab right now is perfect but adding that engravenent would be so super cool.

I really love this!!

Serial # is awesome too!! The very first CBCS slab!!!

We will probably never see the CBCS logo engraved in the slab since CBCS is essentially Beckett /dba CBCS.

Now that engraved CBCS logo is so cool! Would be interesting if that would be brought back if another slab revision occurs in the future.

holofoil and glitter are my speculation. No bedazzling; that would scratch the cases when they’re stacked.

The photo makes it look better than it does in hand. It looked cheap once we got them in and we immediately scrapped them and recorded cases without the logo.

Not many of them survived the purge.

That's too bad because the picture does make it look very cool....you guys know what you're doing because the CBCS Slab and Label progression have always, for the most part, (exception: rivets label) been an improvement. I'd love to have one of those engraved slabs in my collection though. I appreciate those photos, Thanks Steve, 🍻

Recorded = reordered
Sorry, phone typo.

I'm not opposed to doing it in a future design. I was 100% behind it originally, but unfortunately the execution just wasn't what it could have been.

Weren't you also behind the Ricketts, er... rivets label as well? I think I'm seeing a pattern emerging.

I'd vote to revisit that...no other company does it...it's all just icing on the cake, but that's some cool icing in my opinion.

For a second there, I was wondering why Obama would have signed ASM # 75, and then realized what was going on.

I love the engraved logo! While I'm sure the execution wasn't to your expectations once in hand, it would have been really cool to see, or eventually again.

I've been behind every CBCS label, to some degree or another.
