| In case somone missed it, James Cameron’s The Abyss and True Lies are FINALLY getting a blu ray release in March! The Abyss is actually getting a special theatrical screening on Wednesday so check to see if your local movie house will be screening it! I’m a bit conflicted since my theater has a bunch of special screenings this Wednesday at the same time including the afromentioned Abyss, pluss an early screen of the new Miyazaki movie The Boy and the Heron (though it has a general release this weekend anyways so not a big deal), and Monty Python and the Holy Grail |

| So, my buddy helped me out & built me a PLEX server. Basically, a network connected drive to store all my movies. He’s only about 100 movies in to ripping all my physical media. 600 to go! But it’ll be sweet to have everything stored digitally (with back-ups).   |

| So excited to finally grab this, the Japanese release of Battlestar Galactica Season 4! On the surface there’s nothing remarkable about this but it is actually the ONLY physical release of the Face of the Enemy web series that was released in the mid-season gap of season 4. It’s not even on the Peacock streaming platform! Cheapest price on ebay was about $60 (and only got more expensive) but I was able to find a copy off an import site called Suruga-Ya for under $40 with a free shipping promotion. It even arrived a day early from Japan! The Webisodes are available online but Youtube only has episodes 1-9 and DailyMotion has episode 10. for some reason they don’t allow episode 10 to be uploaded at all. Either on its own or in a compilation  |

A couple new acquisitions! I’d started The Expanse but never picked up Season 4 since I wasn’t sure if Amazon would release seasons 5 & 6 on blu ray. They finally released them late last year along with a complete series set. The series set is currently on sale for about $53 and the individual sets for $26. Since I still needed season 4, the complete series was far more economical. As with most Amazon blu ray releases, these are barebones with no bonus features. The complete series is also fairly lazy as they just repackage the previous blu ray sets, albeit with the new logo. Still, I’m glad they released the remaining seasons!  |

| Just arrived! This is an exciting upgrade because it was previously only available on VHS, laserdisc & DVD. I’m glad they included both cuts as well. ‘Aliens’ was supposed to arrive today too, but Amazon now has it scheduled for the 23rd. It seems all the retailers under estimated the demand for Cameron’s films in HD (The Abyss, Aliens & True Lies are backordered just about everywhere apparently).  |
