Walkthru @ CGC14659

Hi all, Quick question, I sent some books into CGC before their price increases. Most were modern and a few were the $1000 option, I know even with the fast track they’ll take sometime. Having said that, I also did 1 WALKTHRU book on its own. It delivered back on 5/5 and when I originally sent it in, there was a 1 DAY turn around. Now it’s a 4 DAY on WT. Here we are a week later and it hasn’t even been updated on my Submissions page. Is it 4 days from reception of the book or is it 4 days from when they finally receive the book into their system? Overall how long should I anticipate this getting back to me? It’s coming back registered as well if that matters. |

Did you mark on the outside of the box that it was Walkthrough? I certainly hope so - standard submissions are taking longer than 4 weeks to get received, but Express and Walkthrough are supposed to get received nearly immediately. It is certainly 4 days from when they receive it in. If you didn't mark the outside of the box, you might try calling them and giving them the tracking # and shipment information, and asking if they can pull it ahead (given the expense of a Walkthrough.) It would suck if your submissions got stuck in a 5-6 week queue to get received with all us plebs submitting Modern or Value tier. My two cents. |

My WalkThrough was entered in their system 4-16. No movement whatsoever. Although I'm paranoid and should prolly call, I figured I'd leave it be a few more days.

@Bronte So then why in the f@ck is there a 4 day turnaround time listed, if you’re telling me you’ve been waiting a month now?

@Haljordanfan When I submitted it was 2 weeks pressing 1 day grade. So. It could be in pressing? But even if it was in pressing it technically should be done by now given the original TAT listed..... Edit. If it matters it was a hulk 181 in original 8.5 cgc case. |

I've always thought walk thru was literally walk thru. Walk in, throw your books over the front desk then rock up at end of next business day and pick up the slabs. Or is that wishful thinking on my part |

@southerncross WalkThrough is for very expensive books or books your trying to push through really fast by paying an arm and leg. In theory you skip the line completely. However in my case they are still taking their time |

I have to say that’s pretty disheartening. I was thinking, since I paid all this money, my book would get there and be in and out in a few days. I want getting anything pressed either. Just a grading. |

@Haljordanfan most definitely when you pay the money. I remember over 15 years ago there was only cgc and from Brisbane Australia to send books the tat was 9 months always. When I sent my Avengers 1 thru my lcs in Brisbane it cost $200 Aussie and the book was back in my hand in 3 weeks. Probably good old days. Sorry to hear it taking so long for those that paid for the quick service. |

@Haljordanfan Hopefully they clear the back log soon. Normally I would suggest calling,,. However in one of the other threads, someone asked about the tmnt signing and that yielded a pissed off presser telling the customer service folks to stop asking..... |

I have books I sent in a month ago and they are still not entered into their system. With the crazy price swing EVERYONE subbed books. The question is will those hot prices still be there 7-8 months from now when you get your books back?

@Haljordanfan I submitted a book early in the year with walkthru and pressing. It took about a week to enter their system and then a full month to get the book back. Last month I sent another with walkthru and pressing via a 3rd party presser, who didn't press the book. He just passed it on and voila, I got the book back in 3-4 days, same grade, un-freakin-pressed. |

@MatterEaterLad Sorry to hear. My Walkthru is the only book i didn’t have pressed. I have a guy that works for me that does pressing on the side, so my turn time is usually a day and I think he does a pretty good job.

They're slow right now, everyone knows they're slow right now, and they still have people paying a premium for speeds that they aren't going to get. Why would they change besides raising prices? |

They're so far behind if even the walk through is backed up. I'm really starting to wonder what's going on down there.

True. But initial listing was for 2 weeks press and same day grade, since they keep moving tbe goal posts it will never finish on the initial suggested time frame. As they move the dates further back, the user has no choice but to "grin and bear it"

Unless it really irks you. I would say save your money and invest in something. The book will retain value and money might be better invested rather than just replacing out of spite or hate.
