Limited Collectors' Edition/Marvel Treasury Edition14636

Forum Crier OGJackster private msg quote post Address this user
I heard CBCS is in the process of getting ready to grade magazine size books. Is there a market for the Limited Collectors' Edition/Marvel Treasury Edition oversized books to get slabbed? It would be nice to see these get preserved for future collectors. I don't think there are any grading companies that grade or press these are there?

Pictures? We don't need no stinking pictures. brysb private msg quote post Address this user
Can you press covers that are thicker/card stock? I always hear the same thing when anyone asks about slabbing Treasuries..."NO". I am curious if there is anyway to make your own slab, just for protection purposes.

@brysb
These are for baseball cards. I don't see why one couldn't make their own holder out of plexiglass?

Slabs have to be sturdy enough to hold a book and not collapse or break open. Pretty sure the materials cannot handle Treasury sized items. Wish they could as i have almost complete DC set, and working to finish.

CBCS already does offer “raw” grading (sealed in Mylar) for treasuries. I would think the size of a hard case would make the weight too cumbersome and be more susceptible to damage than smaller comics slabs.

The last podcast with Steve that I watched, he said basically that no one wants to carry around slabs big enough to hold Treasuries or original art.
