Statues for sale - Marvel/DC and various others14613

Collector Haljordanfan private msg quote post Address this user
Hi everyone,

I have another thread that I started about a collection I came across. I’ll be listing here and EBay. I’ll gladly give members here first dibs on statues that are BIN on the Bay. I’ll obviously go lower than EBay, so it’s a win for all parties.

Pics possibly coming this evening depending on how Mothers Day goes.

Anyone that asked in the other thread for something in particular will get first option on that particular piece.

@Haljordanfan If the full size Lizard isn’t in there, I am interested in the Venom Bowen statue. The one where he’s standing over the sewer grate.

Bowen Gambit Full Size $550 shipped in the lower 48. Box is in good shape.

High asking prices on this one all over the Bay. The ones that I see sold on EBay all had damage issues of some kind. This one is crack and damage free. Last one that was damaged sold for $560 in early April.

First “I’ll take it” wins it over PM negotiations. Items shipped with FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail if size allows.

PayPal and cash in person is always welcome if you’re local.

It has some weight to it.

I use to collect statues many moons ago and if I didn’t already have the action pose Bowen version, I’d have kept this.

Wow! That is a nice one! Tempting. But I am holding out to see if you have any iron man full statues and or villain busts.

I keep thinking as I look at the statues that were made that the sculptors did not give much thought to ease of breakage and how people might accidentally damage a statue with so many projecting pieces.....

That Gambit makes you understand how rare and hard it must to be to find unbroken like this one being sold is.

I remember buying Zatanna statues and seeing similar frequent damage issues...in particular with these
statues

Missing, broken or repaired fingers, wands and fire effects seem the norm for them

Breakage creates scarcity. Scarcity creates higher after-market values. Higher values creates higher demand for their next statue. They may have given it more thought than we realize.

Breakage does create scarcity. Scarcity does create higher after market values. Higher values has nothing to do with their next statue however.....if they make a Gambit and use a certain outfit or uniform, the next statue might utilize a different look or outfit, but the previous statue has little bearing on the retail price of that new unit, and often not on its aftermarket value.

This is why when you look at characters like jean grey who have multiple costume changes and personnas, as well as many different statues, some price rather highly while others are more easily acquired.

You can go and acquire the Hughes Zatanna, the Artgerm Zatanna, and the Jim lee version, altogether for less than the sideshow version costs. Its more a function of units made vs demand, as well as the quality of the paint app, the pose and the costume chosen.
