I believe the mods gave you the right custom title, lol.
Many misunderstand sex for love. Pretty sure Doc you're doing the same. I'm thinking a few guys on here are embarrassed to find they are playing around in here without a single woman in the mix. So you call me 'creepy' - okay? and I like my handle - it's funny, like Brut Reynolds wearing a funny hat. Some of you GUYS are so uptight relax we're talking comics - CGC is more uptight, yikes! Do they talk like me or something? And let's play nice with other grading companies - one day they may be grading ours.

It’s like Jordan taking 5 steps and everyone else gets called for traveling at two steps-except none of those guys is Jordan.

As far as females, it’s the internet, there’s bound to be a “comic chicks in heat” site somewhere.
Pretty sure some of y'all are projecting - and this isn't a dating site unless one is a gay man. You don't like talking with women? And that was not traveling!

There would be more CBCS talk on the CGC site but it's not allowed. That says a lot about the CGC site.

There are far more veteran collectors over there and some great dealers. I've learned a TON over the years from that forum. But the secret mod thing still kinda creeps me out. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, there are a handful of forum members who have been secret mods for years. Basically company shills. Wonderful boardies, nice people volunteering their time, but the lack of integrity it takes to do that in secret lowers my respect for them. How can you expect to get an honest answer regarding CGC, or the benefits of CBCS, when they're essentially working for CGC? (But not telling you).

The CGC site has company shills. The CBCS site has the CBCS President. That's the two forums in a nutshell.

I know from a friend, who sent me a screen shot of his activity on the cgc board, that if you want to know who the secret mods are you just react to posts. Then look go into your profile and look at your activity. It shows that you provided a reaction to a forum moderator. I'd have to find those PM's on my phone but I think that was at the end of last year when you could see that.

It explains why some posters over there never get posts removed when similar posts by other posters get removed quickly.

@Towmater When they updated their forum software a few months ago all the mods got a little icon next to their name/avatar outing them as a secret mod. It was pretty funny. Now the longtime boardies know who is and who isn't, but it isn't discussed and new people to the forum will never know. The secret mods were all very nice people, truly, and I'm sure reigning in some toxic personalities is no picnic. Would just be a little more above board if everyone knew.

@MatterEaterLad As a lurker I read a lot of the things that get posted over there. I was informed of several of the secret mods. I remember 2 of them. One is OK and the other is a condescending blow hard who seems to think he's the smartest guy in the room. That's my nice why of describing that individual.

As a fairly new guy to both forums (only here a week or two, only there for prolly 3-4 months). To me the biggest difference is amount of activity. There are hours, sometimes even almost whole days, where almost nothing is going on here. That never happens over there.

I've run in to both very helpful people and not-so helpful people at CGC. But I think some of that is just culture. Most of the newb questions I see over there will get answered, and pretty quickly, and then a bunch of people will join in and start making jokes, being sarcastic, and thread jacking. But, mostly, unless your name is adamliu , the questions do get answered. And they get answered over and over again. Even when someone else literally asked the same question the day before and the thread for it is 6 topics down...

@robo You may have missed the thread where a new member came on to blast an Ebay seller and after 5 hours or nonsense he quite seriously accused me of hacking his Ebay feedback. It was mindblowing. That's where the name came from. Prior to that my username was @Ebayseller, which may have actually lead to the confusion of the interesting individual. He was getting notices like "Ebay Seller has left you feedback".

yeah I get you, that’s some back story. Haha . Yeah I don’t have a need to go pissing people off. But F em ifthey can’t take a joke granted I am a little off as well. I’ll stick to comics and the like as this is getting less enjoyable.

I'm like you, I prefer to get a little loose with my humor and push the boundaries and comfort zones. But I guess we have to also accept when the boundaries are pushing back. Probably a good lesson for life in general.

One of my first impressions of CGC was thinking why would they allow a "moderator" to use Ron Jeremy as his avatar for years and years? That was off-putting and said something about them as a company to me.

Can't help it. Off-putting? Yeah, but 'allow' - freedoms, man. You want 1984 mods - I sure don't. practice editing your issues. It'll free you up. What's your avatar? Can't see that well on screen? Gonna change mine soon but no worries won't be Ron. lol.

Mods are representatives of the company they're modding for...it certainly does make a statement...either they're not paying attention or they're allowing it...both are not positive statements.

It's when I start annoying myself or not enjoying my own banter - it's time. The pushback means little if anything - I mean that's not fun - but more like why bother? What am I attempting to do? Here that's have some fun & talk shit, learn about selling comics, and comics in general. But screw push back. There is side talk and business. And honestly - I've cooped myself up without enough distractions or interests and maybe am a little depressed. My monkey mind is running a little wild but am practicing thinking about others - as I got too self involved. Happens. Back to my babble - If someone's preaching something you disagree with say yours - otherwise it' like you agree. And it's okay if you don't agree with me - I'm not into silencing anyone. Not always easy with listening or free speech as you need to stand up and counter a lot. Hey Mob. That is Mr. EbayMafia. Where should I sell? my graded books and y'all don't get mad - I went with CGC they had this box package and seemed like they'd be quicker. I know squat. But fun getting those books back. Cheers

If you read what I posted it doesn't have anything to do with 1984. That's a story about a totalitarian government and the use of mass surveillance. I must have missed where I stated I reported someone over it. My point was and is about CGC allowing a moderator to use as his avatar and what it relayed to me about CGC.

My avatar is St. Michael.

I could care less who you use as an avatar. You don't represent CBCS. However, who or what you chose relays information about you. You'll picked it. It reflects something you want to share with others about yourself.

My Avatar is a EC comic!

And why not, as comics in the 50s there were very cool covers.

Yet ECs backed that cover with gorgeous artwork inside and stories with a twist.

Not too many other publishers did that.
They had cool covers and then mediocre art and stories inside 😂

Well if he was "secret", then maybe the Ron Jeremy thing was just a part of his disguise? Like an under-cover cop wearing drug related clothing or jewelry?

That was a fun thread.

My observation was that you could tell the newer undercover officers because they all sported goatees. An easy and fast to grow out to change their appearance once they were transferred into the vice unit.
