I know the slab only option is likely not a high demand option but I've got a few. I'd like to suggest that CBCS add the comic information to the label as they would for the graded version. Basically, I'd like the slab only label to be identical to the graded version minus any grading info (grade, PQ, etc.) Graded Label ![]() ![]() Slab Only Label ![]() ![]() |

I think it is that way so buyers can recognize immediately that it isn't a graded book.

That's a factor I'm sure but in this grade-centric hobby I'd think that's one aspect of the label nobody glosses over.

There's always that one idiot just itching to prove that's there's no such thing as idiot proof. Plus, it stops scammers from just photoshopping a grade in the space and then trying to sell it on eBay based on just a front cover "scan."

Not quite sure why Slab-Only books would be especially vulnerable, especially since CBCS’ ART labels do have the book information and no grade ![]() @GAC I definitely think the Slab-Only labels should include the book info and I’m not sure why they don’t. I’m actually not sure why CBCS treats Slab-Only books and ART label books so differently since they are essentially the same thing. The pricing is different, ART Labels have the book information and are included on the census I kind of feel like the slab-only option wasn’t fully developed before it was launched, in part due to the almost silent launch (I think there was like 1 post on facebook and then no mention of it again) and the lack of any information at all on the website. Why is it ONLY for verified signatures? Why not authentic or even unsigned books? |

@GAC I think it's possible that you're asking for a service that hasn't been paid for with the slab-only option. From what I understand the Signature Verification/Slab only option is ridiculously low cost. It may be that verifying the details on the graded label requires resources that aren't paid for in the slab only option.

@GAC Totally agree! I've wanted the same thing. A blue label SO option would be awesome too. Sometimes I just want an unsigned book slabbed- don't need a grade.

@dielinfinite Great point on the ART comparison! Something is going on (or not going on) regarding slab only. It's possible the perception at CBCS is this service is very low demand. Personally, I like service....its sort of like the inverse of raw grade. @EbayMafia It is pretty low cost $20 to VSP. Maybe I'm wrong on this but doesn't CBCS have a database of label info? I can't imagine they're researching a book everytime one comes in. So, they should already have all the details of the book...its just a matter of selecting the book and printing the label....maybe I'm over simplifying. @SidTheSquid A blue label option is a great idea...especially with their new slabs. Theres a demand I'm sure for this (if reasonably priced). The Cadillac option for the same reason collectors use top loaders. |

I think the color should be different. Orange or something that isn't used so that it makes it more idiot proof.
