An acquaintance of mine has inherited an estimated 3500 records.

I’ll be going through it in the next week or two to help them out.

I wish it was comics. But it should be fun. Not to mention, daunting.

They are looking to sell. I’m simply going to skim them to assess a rough value estimate.

Are they wanting to sell as a collection or will they piece them out? I am interested in 70s & 80s rock, pop & rap LPs and picture sleeve 45s. Please PM me when they're ready to make some money.

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
Wow, just wow.

It’s so tough to learn. There are valuable, rare L.P ‘s but unlike comics, I don’t recognize them at a glance. And the weight!
Still it will be fun.

Finally checking these records out in person, tomorrow.

If anyone is located in Northern California & would like to make a bulk purchase, the owner is looking to sell them. And I mean ALL of them.

I'm in Pacifica, California (Northern California). Let me know if you're near me or if I need to make a ROAD TRIP.

These are in Campo Seco. Outside of the small town of Valley Springs, CA. It’s the foothills. Looks to be a little over a 2 hour drive. If you are interested, let me know.

So, there were between 1700 & 2000 records. Not 3500. Still a lot.

Condition was VG I’d say, on average. Some better. Lots of 70’s & 80’s stuff.

Some I’d never heard of, but plenty of big names: Elvis, Ray Charles, Foreigner, etc.

I know there were a couple STYX albums.

I’m meeting someone Wednesday who’s going to check out the lot.

I’m really just helping a friend out. Parting these out individually would be quite an undertaking. I’m hoping to move them in bulk for their sake.

It would have been funny if you typed, "Jewel KISS Rick Springfield Styx."

Any YES or Pink Floyd?

@Siggy I think I saw a couple YES albums. No Pink Floyd that I can recall. It kinda surprised me.

But more than once, I saw other album inside the gatefold of another record. Sleeve and all.

I’m certain there’s good stuff in this collection, It simply isn’t my wheelhouse.

Most of the ones I looked up, priced out in the $10-$15 range.

I'll definitely consider them assuming they're not anything released after Rabin joined (90125 or Big Generator).
Ew.
