Just received an email yesterday saying that my order (received Mar 17) was graded, and ready for encapsulation. If everything goes out by the end of the week, we're looking at roughly 20wk (19wk for modern, 1wk for VST).

Don't hold your breath bud....
I had that same message 5 weeks before they finally shipped.
BUT.....your submission date is the same as mine was, so maybe they are just waaaaaaaaaaaay behind on updating dashboards. They never did update mine. 5 months showing "Processing" Then your submission has shipped.....
I sure hope they can get some help with updating everyone's dashboards soooooon.....

I am honestly not overly concerned with the full turn around time. However, I would like to see my submission show as "received", or any other designation that will reassure me that my shipment has not disappeared (first submission nerves).

Go down to Joe's place and hop the fence...
No more waiting
Ok, was just a thought lol...

No maybe about it; it's a fact that updating dashboards is very low on their priority list.

I also just got the "Your order is ready for shipping" email just now, so I'm more hopeful. But we'll wait until I have the tracking number in hand.

And shipped, tracking number in hand.

Lots of surprises in the grades (I don't care about waiting). One or two were lower than I thought, a number of them were where I guessed, and a few were higher. One got a 9.9; was curious about that when I sent it in.

Hey all, new to the forum and sent in books for the first time. They were sent in June 21st and the status of them says “submitted” is this normal? Should I call to ask if they were received? TIA

@Djgonzalez thanks for using this thread instead of starting a new one for this question. Do you have verification of delivery from the post office? If so, you don't need to worry about it. They are opening packages on arrival but there is a long backlog to get into the system as received.

Hey there, I'm in the same boat. If you don't mind me asking, did you happen to get charged yet?

@Dawnstar I thought it charged my card right away, but searching back through my bank statements it doesn’t show any payment being made. Also the order shows the balance still due

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
@Djgonzalez - welcome to the Forum. And just a little further clarifications for you. They are internally checking all boxes in within a day or so of receipt, there is a separate dashboard which each of us see that is not being updated, in many cases for several weeks or even months. That doesn’t meant that your submission isn’t moving along though.

On the charging of your credit card, that is not done typically until sometime after your comics are received and the are in production. Example, i just got charged last week for a package CBCS received mid-June. You will want to check your dashboard periodically to make sure there are no “billing” issues.

Here is a link to a guide that one of the forum members created: Direct Link in normal times it is pretty spot on. Now not being normal, it will still give you an indication of what is going on.

Cheers and just be patient, it will take awhile.

@Djgonzalez - There you go, pretty much jives with my timeline of my submission that I got billed for last week. Cheers.

Now, for others who sent in prior, you may not have been billed yet, but that does not mean that your comics are not in queue. As example, I have a submission that was sent the first week of june which hasn't been billed yet. I am confident that CBCS internally checked it in, the estimated TAT started shortly thereafter, and I will eventually get billed.

As my order went in late June, is it safe to assume that as long as there are no 'hundreds of books' orders ahead if mine that I could potentially see something start to happen in the next couple of weeks?

Thanks

@Bobashek - Good question, but, tough to guage. Keep in mind, that there are different departments involved. Based on my submissions, from early may through july, I have now been billed through mid-june and the early june order that I alluded to above, I just got an email from billing a few minutes after to which I immediately responded and Voila! it moved from Submitted to Processing. My points are, it was received a week or so prior to my previous submission movement,

@Bobashek - continuing-sorry, hit reply before i finished.

Anyway, the other point is sure, there could be a monster submission(s) that further gum up, but other things could crop up to disrupt what consistency they are seeming to have in catching up with the dashboard, billing, and comms. Could be that some people get sick, a slew of orders need billing clarification or something, etc.

But if I were to bet, as long as no new major incidents occur, I would not be surprised if you saw some dashboard movements or billing before August month end. Could even happen this week.

Thanks @scifinator. Like lots of newbies to the process, this also is my first submission and hopefully I will be better informed after this learning experience.
