Dark Horse Star Wars Key Issues Ebay Sale14484

So 6 months ago I stumbled onto an estate sale and pretty much got the entire collection of Dark Horse Star Wars comics from the 80's on up for a great price.

it was like the comic gods smiling on me as I don't read Star Wars but I can't really afford the old Bronze/Silver age stuff I do like in good condition...so...I did some research and sent in my first 10 ever books to CBCS to get slabbed.

I've put the 4 9.8's I got up for auction on Ebay and thought I'd link them here.

1. Dark Horse STAR WARS: TALES #23 CBCS 9.8 1st App of Darth Revan & Malek (2005) NO RES

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265135487273

2. Dark Horse STAR WARS TALES #24 CBCS 9.8 1st Darth Nihilus & Darth Treya (NO RES)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265139726221

3. Star Wars Jedi vs. Sith #1 1st app Darth Bane & Darth Zannah - CBCS 9.8 (NO RES)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265135514518

4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 8 CBCs 9.8 1st App Carth Onasi Fett Manda

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265139729152

i based the starting bid usually a few hundred dollars under confirmed final sales of like auctions of only other CGC or CBCS graded comics.

Cheers!

@bluemeenie is this your first time selling through Ebay auctions?
If I can share my own experience with you, I think there might be a couple details that could lead to disappointing results (I learned these things the hard way). Looks like the first auction ends at 1:00 AM Saturday Morning East Coast Time. This may severely limit any last minute bidding, I think the ideal ending times for an auction are around 10:00 PM East Coast on Saturday or Sunday. I've seen really disappointing results on auctions that end at random unplanned times. Second, I would not send CBCS 9.8's straight to auction. The audience for CBCS is currently more limited than the audience for CGC, particularly on 9.8 moderns. This can really hurt you in auctions. Better to put them up at a BIN price near FMV and be patient, with a plan to either take offers or start discounting slightly if they don't sell in the first week or two for your asking price.

@ebayMafia yeah the ebay start times I totally screwed up on that. I was taking pictures and getting information ready and by the time I started them auction I didn't realize it was after 1 am.

2 already have bids on them so there is nothing I can do now, but I am thinking of ending the other 2 early so I could fix it.

Maybe I'll do what you are suggesting and pull them and restart them as BIN for a month and see what happens as I am not really in a hurry and at this point everything I make is purely profit. (part of the 4 long boxes I pulled at the estate sale had entire runs of Simpsons, Futurama, and Bart Simpson that I ended up selling for around 1K before I even posted my first SW books, so I have more then made my money back)

Thanks for the valuable input. I'll update the items now as well as link.
