That's pretty sad that a person needs to seek attention in that fashion. Granted I see this A LOT, in this forum.

I do agree... but nowhere near as bad as across the street....now that CBCS is in Texas is CGC still "across the street" or does that phrase need to be updated?

Two. One to hold the ink pad and one to hold the “e” die.

Edit: sorry, read it as “stamped e”

Related question: is it better to have a bad sense of humor or no sense of humor?

For the Canadians:
“is it better to have a bad sense of humour or no sense of humour?”

Related (sort of)… ever hear the A Perfect Circle song “So long and thanks for all the fish?” … not really an homage to the Doug Adams themes but close enough. Worth a listen for any Tool / APC fans out there.

It is named after Sir George Yonge....otherwise we would have added the u correctly.

How do Americans spell the following:
"honour”
“flavour”

As a Canadian that has spent the vast majority of my adult life in the U.S. and adapted to blend in, the language critique from Americans is amusing.

It is called “English” not “Americanish” so I think the American adjustments are the ones more open to examination. British/Standard English had the U’s (though they choose not pronounce their R’s half the time). I suppose Americans dropped the U’s to save time - or to avoid conceding typos. “Oh, I meant to write it that way!”

Or maybe an act of defiance/rebellion.

Canadians then countered with their own act of defiance and decided to drop the pronunciation of the U in several words, opting for Aboot and Ooot.

This is mere speculation from a former flappy-header.

This is the reason.
"Motivated both by nationalist fervor and a desire to reform spelling, Webster (dictionary guy)proposed numerous spelling changes in his work. Some of these, such as dropping the U from honour and mould, were accepted in America. Others, such as masheen (and spelling women and ache as wimmen and ake), were not."

Arg!!! just got an e-mail from a new local presser I'm trying - seems like my Spidey #27 has the centerfold detached from the bottom staple

I have 3 more of these but all 4 were in that 7.5 to 8.5 range - probably just throw out the one with a bad staple!!!!

Is this an issue with this book?

checked my other 3 and 1 had the bottom staple loose and 1 had the whole centerfold loose - so only 1 of 4 is good! wtf!!

no..just looking at books I have multiples of to sell off -figured at 7-8.5 I might get $40 a piece for them...but with staple issues - might as well toss them! probably why I have 4 of these - just didn't remember any issues - might have $10 a book into these??

@KatKomics - Just a heads up, you can still get up to a 9.0 from CBCS with one staple of the centerfold detached.

not sure they are worth grading - kind of why I was going to sell them off.
1 is 100% fine
2 with 1 staple detached
1 BOTH staples detached

all 4 in the 7.5 to 8.5 range - which is only like $50/$60 bucks

never sold raw books at MCS but I'm putting together a batch of rejects (things I have 2 or more of) to see what I can get - guess I'll still send in 1 of the 1 staple issues for now to see how they grade it

I have a Secret Wars 8 (7/7.5) - might keep this one?? This is the one I had as a kid - my mom sent it to me at summer camp shocked it is in as good condition as it is as the whole cabin would have read it!, CapAmerica 323 (no idea on grade need to see what the presser did and if he could get rid of some sticker residue), Aliens #1 (7?), Godzilla #1 (7?), Bat#423 6.5 to 7?, ASM 363 in the 9s (9.4-9.6 if press fixes things), the SpecSpidey 27??, SW Heir #1 6.0?

Extras of Howard the Duck #1 and 12 (both 8s?) bunch of other stuff - gonna start looking to sell even non double books that I just don't need anymore
ASM 317 direct 9.6+? and news stand 9.4? - just stuff

@KatKomics - Josh, I really need to do the same. Just be aware that MCS is a much harsher grader than CBCS or CGC regarding some defects. For example, I would expect about a VG/FN (5.0) from them for one detached CF staple, and about a G/VG (3.0) for both. I do not think they under-grade everything, but they are usually overly conservative with raw grades. That is why when you look at sold prices at their auctions, it is not uncommon to see a raw 8.0 book sell for more than a graded 8.0/9.0 copy of the same issue. Good luck!

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@Elvinv I always recommend the tier with the coupons you'll use. The discount is the same at any tier besides dealer, so that doesn't matter. If you're going to send some 2-day moderns, get bronze. If you have stuff for rapid tier, get silver. If you have some big books that qualify for 1-day, get gold. The membership price is supposed to add up to roughly what the coupons are worth, so I aim for that and then the discount is just gravy. On the other hand, if you just want the discount but don't care about the coupons, get bronze since it's cheapest.
