That's what leaves my collection out.

mm

But you make up for it in class and grace! Maybe they will make an exception based on that, lol.
Honestly, @martymann, I think what would make your Pedigree interesting is that you could probably provide a little story for each book in the collection.

Thank you for your kind words but I doubt it will ever happen.
But I'm always happy to tell you about any book in my collection
at least until I begin to lose it.

Marty

I really think it is unfortunate and a missed opportunity to not recognize your books as a pedigree given vintage and OO status.

Thank you but you have to play by the rules and I doubt if they
will change.

At what point should an artist/creator/writer refuse the request of customer? I feel Kevin Eastman should be ashamed of himself for doing this to this TMNT #1 1st Print. I knew he was a sellout and signs far too much stuff, but this really grinds my gears.

I hate remarks, but I'm perfectly ok with fewer desirable copies on the census.
He can scribble on all of them if he wants to... except mine.

I wouldn't have done it, but if the owner likes it and it makes him smile when he looks at it,then it's fine with me... Not that he needs my approval. It wasn't my book.

@martymann If your little collection ever got a Pedigree it would be fun to name it. Something like the "Childhood Pedigree". The smaller size of the collection and less-than-pristine condition makes it a great representation of what a kids collection would look like from back in the day. Bought by a kid, read by a kid, stored and transported by a kid. It has an organic and authentic feel to it.

Thank you for your continued interest...while I have dubbed it
"THE PARK AVENUE COLLECTION" based on the location where a good
portion of my books were purchased, I would imagine anyone could
rename it.

Was not expecting that. But it calmed down a lot during the actual film (Ready Player One) and it was just like watching a movie in a motion simulator. I tend to like snacks during a movie and the movement made it almost impossible to eat anything and with the upcharge I haven't been back.

Can anyone tell me how long “2 day modern” submissions are taking? Mine has been in submitted status for 10 days. CBCS doesn’t reply to my emails and the call center is completely pointless.

How many days would expect to hear back on an offer for a collection? I offered $6000. for a collection 3 days ago. The boyfriend passed away and she had to ask the daughter who owns the collection. The daughter just started college somewhere. The books are stored in the ladies basement and attic. She wants the space back in her house. I am so nervous about obtaining this collection. I am really hoping everything falls into place. Wish me luck guys.

@BrianGreensnips Where is the collection located? Got and email or phone number for the mother or daughter? I want to offer her $6025.00 Help a brotha out !

Of course I'm kidding ! Good luck Brian !

BTW, some advice to your question: Call tomorrow. 3 days was plenty of time. Tell the mother that you're sorry for bugging her, but you are still interested in buying this collection. If it's local, see if you can stop by to look at the collection to show the mother that you are serious in your convections.

It's hard to say. When someone is going through something so tragic they may not get back to you at all. They could have very well changed their mind about selling or believe the $6000 is taking advantage of their unfortunate situation and doesn't even warrant a response.

@flanders @BrianGreensnips Hell.... Just talk to the mother and tell her that she needs her space back, and that her daughter could use the $6k... Tell the mother it's good for everyone involved. The mother will then talk to her daughter. Motherly advice...

I don't know. 6 grand is a lot of money. I think I will call her by Saturday if I don't hear from her.

About 32 short boxes. It was tough to put a price on it but part of it was based on my available funds and the ability to make a profit from the collection. My plan would be to keep a large portion of the collection and filter it into my personal collection.

Because some people, including myself, have a strong aversion to snakes. I would prefer to metaphorically slide down a chute as opposed to a snake. I used to have nightmares about snakes.

The ancient India Mokshapat or Moksha Patamu was adopted by the English as “Snakes and Ladders with modifications, number of snakes and ladders equalized and religious aspects removed. Later introduced to the U.S as “Chutes and Ladders” (probably for sake of trade mark / copyright over anything)
