Ok, that didn't take as long as I thought.

There is wikipedia page, so you don't have to be bombarded with add and such, to origins of various words. The article is "List of common false etymologies of English words". Warning, profane and offensive language used on the page.

Anyone remember when speculating meant buying two...one to have and one to sell when it doubles from 50 cents to $1? Now it's like speculating means buying 15 or 20.

I've forgotten since it's been so long, but when dropping off books at a Con can I submit the invoice via the website and pay in cash at the convention? I know I usually just have them fill it out at the booth but I tend to always buy the image option and it generally gets left off when I do it in person at a con so figured I would fill it out online in advance.

@martymann - That looks like what is referred to as the Diamond Reprint version - they have the blank UPC box and the 35-cent cover price in a diamond-shaped area in the upper left corner.

I believe there is also a 30-cent Diamond 3-pack that must have
been issued first.

Not sure about that, Marty. There is a 30-cent reprint version that doesn’t have either the blank UPC or the diamond. It looks just like the first print except it says “REPRINT” on the cover right under the price alongside the image of Luke.

Found this in a non-comic box (family is full of retired postal employees) so I figured it was a gift at sometime. Can this be graded with the stamp sleeve on it? Anyone know if it would be worth more sold as a Stamp + comic or comic + stamp? (If that makes sense)

No, there’s just the new land and the old country. It’s not Lord of The Rings. No Middle Dutch.

Happened to me for the first time a couple weeks ago. They informed me that the item needs to be relisted and the non-paying bidder's account will be terminated.

I have to constantly remind myself to keep on eye on the shipping price. Not sure if it still occurs today, but ebay charges you based on the selling price of the item which does not include shipping. So in order to minimize fees some sellers post a discounted price but add an exorbitant amount for the shipping. Good for them, but ouch for anyone who isn't tracking the fee.

So of course one was current and got billed with the $15 shipping. I better change some shipping choices asap.

@NowGrade It does not go that way anymore. Probably more than 5 years ago Ebay started charging fees on everything, including sales tax and shipping.

Those were probably my comic books. In the winter I used to sit in front of the wood burning stove with a stack of comic books when I was kid. You keep that smell man! It's nostalgia.

@DrWatson DC Deathstroke was late 1980, that Spider-Woman issue was mid-81, New Mutants 98 was 10 years later.
