Is it that people don't like change or something else that causes them to be irrational when faced with something new? |

Both books are part of my new gods collection in slab....trying to decide which book is best to me...the 9.6 seems to have a much more serious miswrap, and also some color fade around or adjacent to the M in miracle. Both books drew a white for pages...notice the CBCS slab offers more information as well. Furies appearance and first appearance of King Komodo.
Which book would you keep and which would you divest?
For clarification I have these books also in raw form 3-4 deep as well so really no need for a 2nd slab that I can see |

This!
The CGC is over graded, and ugly for a 9.6 |

Based on your photos alone, anyone in a random sampling would probably pick the CBCS book because it presents nicer and looks cleaner given the light background. It's giving off visual cues that scream, "Pick me!" |

The top of the DC & 20 cents circles being cut off on the CGC copy would be the factor for me. It's one of my pet peeves. Given an approximately equal choice, I'd get the one with complete circles. So, I'd get the CBCS one. |

Bought a few weeks apart and being somewhat inexpensive for kirby work in high grade and all |

I'd like to try a signature series on a comic book one of these days.
Does cbcs write on the label where the signature is when it's not a verified one.
If not I want a sig inside the book so collectors waste a good 5 minutes to find the signature on the cover where none can be seen. |

If you mean the location of the signature on the cover, then the answer is no. They do note interior signatures on the label. |

Yes they do note interior even if it does not verify |

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC?

Can’t remembering where i saw it or who posted it, but how does one remove the production roller scuff marks on the new sonicwelds. Wd-40? I have had an issue with it but someone was asking about it in one of the fb forums. |

Is anyone here familiar with and have copies of signatures from greg Horn to compare? I bought a copy of Emma Frost #1 to have him sign and they sent me this one.....

I am guessing that is a signed copy and they never noticed..... |

Is that going to Megacon? I need to get a comic signed by him but also want to get Frank Miller on it at the same time |

I am sending a few books with someone to Megacon yes, as I would like to have Greg sign them and have them graded up and so forth. I am a big Emma frost fan and his covers for the series were off the hook. |

Won a book on eBay tonight. Was a little taken aback over the total at check out. I then realized it was the sales tax. It made me think about severely limiting my eBay purchasing, especially if the price of the book is of some weight. |

Been paying that for months at MCS for my books, and yeah it digs deep into your pockets. Then you get people running around going on and on about price bubbles and things being so high they will have to suddenly plummet in price......nevermind how the fees and added taxes have helped contribute |

Evaluating this book today.....
Fantastic Four 28 apparent slab grade 6.5

Graders notes are rather suggestive...
"Grader Notes : crease left bottom of back cover
large crease top of whole book
spine stress lines breaks color
very small crease right bottom of front cover breaks color"
GPA says a 6.5 is around 350
a 7.0 is 355
at 7.5 the book moves to around 900 dollars.
Two of the obvious flaws mentioned might in fact press out. I have to doubt it was cleaned or pressed prior to grading given the notes. I am deciding if doing so would give it that extra shove over the 7.5 mark .....
I see this book as a solid investment the coming 36 months with its early crossover between the FF and x men, both groups we know Disney is about to push really hard. Considering a crack and resubmit.....wyd? |
