It was special all right. Fortunately I didn’t forget my hot sauce that’s stashed in my truck.
Hot sauce instantly makes thing better. Just added some to my calamari today.

There's a piece of pie in the refrigerator. I don't particularly want it, but I'm afraid someone else might eat it.

I'm kicked back watching an old war movie and contemplating what to fix for dinner. Black beans and rice sounds like it would hit the spot. I have 2 uncooked chops I can slice, or maybe lean ground beef.

btw... what seasonings did you use?

@Pre_Coder - Salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic, white vinegar, oregano, and a dash of Frank’s hot sauce.

Thanks! I have everything but the hot sauce. Guess I can open a can of Rotel (habanero) and add a couple or so tablespoons.

@Pre_Coder - No problem. There’s chopped onion and green peppers in there too. Send me a PM if you want my recipe!

You just got that PM, bro. Reply at your convenience.

I'm decent at fixing the basic foods,... steaks, chicken, fish - rice and pasta - and I gotta have my fresh leafy green vegetables.

I'm just not that experienced with food mixtures and seasonings.

Just taking the new bread machine through its paces. Doubles as a way to make the house smell amazing too.

I can buy about sixty loaves of bread for what that thing cost and not have to do anything but eat it. And I don't have to pay for ingredients either.

10-4 on the bread maker. There are loaves that don't require it. Spend the money trying to locate bread flour...

The good thing about making your own bread is you can control the salt/sugar content. Store bought bread is loaded with salt/sugar,.. you just can't taste it because of the yeast.

@DrWatson @HeinzDad with regards to the @Davethebrave bread maker, haven't we already agreed in the past that a hobby...almost by definition...is the intentional wasting of time and money? Having said that, if I had a bread maker it would spend the first 4 weeks on the counters and the next 4 years in the cabinets.

I think @Davethebrave was merely suggesting that there are healthier ways to prepare foods.

We can spend time and money preparing healthy food today, as opposed to spending money in our later years on prescription drugs due to high blood pressure and diabetes.

Rice, black beans, and pork,.. thanks to @esaravo's recipe. I didn't change a thing, except for cutting the recipe in half and I didn't include the Frank's.

After a few Heinekens while watching football,.. Oh yeah!
