| Happy Saturday! I have been in contact with Darryl after they received my books. I asked if I should have insured the books for $1000 (I only put $100 on the invoice. He wrote back and stated “I can change this to 1,000.00 insured just confirm this on your end. This will move the book into the 2 day modern tier and the price would then be $40.00 for the grading, and Pressing would go to $35.00.” And that left me with more questions. Darryl hasn’t responded yet so I thought I would ask the group. I asked this. (I edited it down) “What will the new bottom line price? And does the 2 day modern speed up the process? Lastly, is this something that you would recommend? I’m asking because this is my first time submitting comics for grading” Can anyone give a recommendation as to how to proceed? More insurance, more expensive to grade and press? Is the pressing done better or moved up in line? Any insight is appreciated. |

| In my opinion, the insurance is what would be acceptable with if there was a complete and utter loss. If your book is really worth say a thousand dollars and it mysteriously goes poof, what price will you be happy with? | ||

| @Herkzy I'm sure the pressing is done to the best of their ability no matter the cost of the book. Not sure if it'll put you closer to the front of the queue. Insurance is good if the books get damaged or lost getting back to you thru shipping. That would be the big thing for me. No one wants books lost but at least you could be compensated if that unlikely scenario ever happened.  |

| These three books are all the same. Superman #75 DC, Dynamic Forces Signed Edition, Modern Age, Signed by Dan Jurgens and Jerry Siegel. Processing tier: $18.00 Verified: $40.00 Fast Pressing: $18.00 It’s looking like $17 more per book. Or $51 increase for this order. I’m not looking to pay for the “undercoating”. I guess what I’m asking is WWYD? Is this a justifiable amount for $1000 of insurance for three books? |

| @Herkzy if you initiated the conversation because you think the books are worth $1000, then you should go ahead and put them in at that level. CBCS sorts books differently depending on their age and value; more expensive books get pressed and graded faster. Not differently, just faster. So you can view that as a fringe benefit to properly valuing your books. 2-Day moderns in particular are indeed graded in 2 business days, and pressing them is about a month according to https://www.cbcscomics.com/estimated-turnaround-times . So if you wanted to, you could also think of the extra payment as getting you your books faster. As to what I would do, I don't know what those books are worth either. I would think more about how badly I want those books back in my hands and make the decision that way. I'm usually content to wait, personally. |

| Personally, I don't think they are worth it. I would say use gocollect.com as a general reference and see what tbe books are worth and then you make a call. Edit If this is your book, I would say their is no way those signatures in my mind make the book worth over a grand a piece.  |

| @Herkzy Understood. I would leave the order be, unless you have some burning desire to have them back earlier and have money to burn... I've sent a lot of books in over the past 2 years and honestly nothing has ever happened except 1 time where a book may have been damaged in shipping to the graders. I opted to have the book mailed back to me and it looked fine to me when I got it back. |

| Jerry Siegel signature only adds about 100-150 to book value for most collectors; Dan Jerguns can actually detract from the value, to some people. I would leave them in the $200 tier. If you want faster turnaround, use fast pass/fast press which cuts wait time in half. | ||
