New To Your Collection #1114267

@esaravo Yeah, I remember those now.

Maybe a quality control oversight?

Looks like a candidate for a reholder. I purchased the notes & don’t see it improving with a press.

@00slim beautiful book, I don't know if I would risk a press/clean with the spine split, even just the graders opening the book could cause more damage.

Picked these 2 up yesterday in a trade for a comic in which I had triplicates of the same issue. Been jonesing for the Bisley Conan ever since I saw Bisley post it for his Kickstarter sketchbook. Finally in my possession after making the trade quite some time ago.

Got to spend some time going through back issues while my wife was at the baby doctor. Picked up classic Jim Lee X-men. Also was intrigued by the spectacular Spider-Man 213. 3 different types. 2 direct editions with two different colors, then one newsstand but one being polybagged and the other not.

Xmen 1 with Wolverine and cyclops has first cameo of omega red I believe

Some people believe, much like some people believe that an ad is a first appearance.

I think if you accept Hulk 180 as wolverines first appearance because of a single panel at the end of the story you also accept the Omega red appearance in the villians to come pull out as his first....

How are they really different? Both are cameos ....but first appearances. The only difference is one is supposedly within context of the story while the other is apparently not

We can also take Avengers #195 as Taskmaster's first appearance. Fully revealed, named, and with dialogue.

I guess if you do not count the x men 1 for Omega red, alot of these variant covers that have a new character on them that does NOT appear within the book need to be removed as first appearances as well to keep things consistent.

What complicates matter is that out of all tbe versions of xmen 1 out there only the ones with Wolverine and cyclops on the cover carry omega red pinup. The rest do not.

Are you very sure about that? If its an insert in the regular issue......its likely also inserted in the Higher end prestige format

Xmen one had multiple covers. Each cover had a different pinup / centerfold. Only the Wolverine/ cyclops has omega red.

Edit

I think in comments they mention that the variant with no price with cyclops and Wolverine has all the pinups and centerfolds

You might notice he showed you the centerfolds for all the issues....except the deluxe format, that we know contains all four covers right? I was trying to remember but thought it also contains all of the centerfolds, you know?

A person in this position also believes that Jane Foster Thor and Spider-Gwen first appeared in Hawkeye vs Deadpool 0, and is hoarding it in the hopes that someday they'll convince other people they're right.

Yeah well not so much Konk, because the two characters you are mentioning there are clearly identified in the comic as random partygoers, rather than the hero characters themselves. Somewhat similar to the strange tales issue that had an acrobat disguised as Captain America....not quite the same concept either.

Eh, if an ad is supposed to count, then someone physically appearing as a character that has never been seen before should count.

All of this to say, I think we all understand there is little logical consistency to first appearances/cameos/whatever. If someone wants to convince the world that X-Men 1 is the first Omega Red, more power to them.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Last weekend I saw Steve and Matt at the CBCS booth in New Hampshire.

My primary reason for making the long trip was to get signatures from Jim Shooter and Al Milgrom but I ended up having a field day buying books over the weekend:

@HeinzDad Pretty much everything will be getting graded.

Many of them will get signatures first.

They will all be for sale afterwards.
