Press screen charge if pressed?14206

Collector RonMob private msg quote post Address this user
Looking for clarification on if press screen charge of $5 is added to the pressing charge IF the pressing is also completed. So for example, if a modern book is sent in for press screen and then pressed is the total charge related to pressing $12 or is it $17 [$5 (screen) + $12 (press)]

Thanks in advance for responding to my boring question!

@RonMob I would like to know this as well. I did my first press screen on my latest order. Id like to think that they would only charge for the press but I could be wrong. It might be added to the total. @Bronte He would be the guy to ask.

I had asked this a while back and here was response I received,

Press screen is a separate fee so if it is determine that the book would benefit from a press then you would be charged the full pressing fees on top of the screening fee. If any book passes grade screen the whole order will wait for the books in pressing which is an addition ~13 weeks at the moment

I do not know the answer to this. I always "assumed" that if it was pressed, that the fee was waived, but I DO NOT know for certain. And from tbe above post, it looks like they charge you either way.

Didn't Steve Borock answer this recently? I thought he said that if 70% of the books in Press Screen were Pressed then the fee is waived. Or was he talking about something else?

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
You get charged for press screen regardless of it the book ends up pressed or not. You pay the $5 up front when the order gets there, and then you later pay full price for any pressing that occurs.

@GAC Yeah, that was for grade screen. If you send too many books that don't make the cut, you get charged.

Good information. I did a press screen on my entire order this time and was wondering how it worked. I was prepared for paying regardless.

I don't know why anybody would pay for that service. Its a pure money grab IMHO

I've submitted press screen and been rejected on a few books. If it was a money grab they would have pressed in my opinion.
