It could be worse, I bought two copies at $100 each a few months ago, which I'm hoping are 9.8 or miraculously above and one copy of of the Frison Variant slabbed 9.8 for $130. I don't have any of the early issues besides these and I'm not going to bother trying to acquire them since I'm already very heavily invested in the series so far. My barf moment was selling a Star Wars #42 CBCS 9.8 Newsstand for $1000 in I believe May 2020. I would've liked to still have that now with a FMV of closer to $4000. That being said the guy that sold it to me with a lot of #39-43 for $130 shipped, all but #43 came back as 9.8's (only b/c I didn't send it in due to a low market value at the time). So I can't be too disappointed considering he'd probably still be barfing if he found out about this and it's hard to anticipate that after it already doubled in price during the first lockdown spike. It's not even the 1st app of Boba Fett.

Wow! Nice post. I’m light years behind all of you.

I’ve been wanting a reason to post all day. I’m 52 and feel like a little kid.
I just mailed my first three books today. They are all the same book. Superman #75. DC, Dynamic Forces Signed By Dan Jurgens and Jerry Siegel.

I found all three at an auction and bid them sight unseen because they were sealed in card board mailers. They were sealed in ‘93 (with the recipe). Someone paid a lot more for them then I did. I paid $15 for all three. I felt that no one should touch be touching these with Mr.Siegel’s signature on them. Dan’s autograph isn’t bad either. I apologize if I seem overly joyful. I know there are many more holly grails better than these but I’m thrilled to have these as my first books. I looked on the Population Report and from what I have found, I don’t think the CBCS has ever
encapsulate a #75 with both signatures (if I’m mistaken forgive me)

I had to guess on insurance. Could someone tell me a what I should tell CBCS to insure them for. I’m hoping that they will let me add insurance if the amount is to low.

I’m sending them in for the works and they will all be slabbed no matter what grade they receive.

These are the books that I had to explain to the wife that no matter how good they look to us, don’t get your hopes for anything higher than 9.8.

Thanks for letting me get that out without starting a new thread.

Sorry man, I sold and advised you to do the same. Back then $1,000 felt like real money. Hell, the $375 that I got for my 9.6 felt like real money. This is starting to feel a lot like the internet stock boom of the late 1990's, where it all just turned into Monopoly money at the end (Except for the handful of companies that were extra special).

It's ok, even if you're the current owner. It was $450 before the lockdown, I think most people anticipated Boba Fett appearing in the show, so no reason to hold expecting another spike, and most felt things would get back to normal starting summer 2020. I also have plenty of comics in my personal collection that have far more meaning to me and that have increased substantially in value if I ever care to sell them.

Yeah, they’re all commissions. I’ve been wanting to do something with Preacher for a while but there are no Preacher blanks. But Garth Ennis worked on both characters, they both had some similar vices and dealt with some similar dark forces so it made sense to put them together. I might have Tim Bradstreet give the concept a shot once he starts doing commissions again or even Fabry if I ever catch sight of another sketch opp

Dude.... I don't have much to say except I don't think I've ever been this jealous. Even of @flanders signed Spawn #174.

Ah, so that's Preacher on the back. For some reason the situation made me think of Jim Morrison or James Dean, but I knew it didn't look like them.

I decided late last year to send in a small order each month roughly based on whatever sale is going on. I'm aiming to get all of my Uncanny issues below 142 or so (undecided on going a little higher, and what to do with the reprint issues) graded, if not slabbed, over time. With each of them I've been trying to include something I could sell to help cover the cost.

So right now I have 4 orders in.
One has 29 books and should be coming home any day now; it's from the October pressing promotion.
From the December Holiday promotion, I have Hulk 340 and Uncanny 10, 11, 17, and 21.
From the January New Year promotion, I have Uncanny 95 and 96 and the few books my dad owned when he was a kid. Most of those are getting raw graded for the sentimental value.
From the February Vintage promotion, I have Uncanny 22, 28, 32, 35, and 58, and a Fantastic Four 52.

I have to figure out what to send for this month. I might swing up to the 100s for a change of pace, and have to decide what one or two other things to include.
