I was updating my inventory and it looks like all things Simpsons related are blowing up. If you have any graded copies for sale you may want to reprice them.

@Scifinator - Counter offer with $40. You’re asking $50 and there’s another 9.0 for $45.

I received an offer for $352 for each of these today. I feel it's far too low, especially for #12 which is 1 of 5 in 9.8 and none higher, not to mention the amazing cover. #9 is 1 of 7 in 9.8. Nothing significant happens in either of them to the best of my knowledge. Thanks!

@flanders - hold, those arre way too nice and rare to let go for a bargain. Counter high and set offer auto decline much higher on both.

@Scifinator you may have convinced me to keep them, although I was thinking of that already. I countered $550 for #9 and $600 for #12. Seeing as how the bidder started at $200 each I doubt they will sell, which is great . I think I'll have to message MCS to send these ones back home.

On this issue, this is the ONLY CBCS graded example and cgc census only reflect 4 copies graded 9.8. I had listed it at $88. Buyer originally offered $44 to which I countered $80 and buyer currently has the $57 offer as a recounter.

Decision made - Gonna HOLD & re-counter at the $80 level again.

@Scifinator lol I'd counter $98 😜

Seriously i good offer should be maybe 10 percent discount to start,

If you have to offer 50 percent as your first offer, well I've not heard that work for comics for sale before.

Why offer 50% of the asking price.

Offer the seller $0 and then ask the seller to send you the book on their own dime 😛

So I have been thinking about a possible conflict. As I have posted many times before, I offer/consider deeper discount on my MCS/SlabSmart listings for fellow CBCS Forum members in good standing. That said, when I started this SELL or HOLD thread I figured that forum members who had interest in my listings had probably already cycled through.

However, if a member does want to make an offer, PLEASE message me and give me a heads up as I do not want to broadcast what you want in this thread or knowingly/potential pit members against each other....Except for @ebaymafia - For you everything is double priced...cause this Elitist has gotta keep the Proletariat Peasants down.

Now, on to the post.

SELL or HOLD? Offer received $78 - Listed at $139

Notes, 1st appearance of Xena in comic book media. ONLY CBCS graded example and 1 of 9 Blue and Yellow label cgc 9.8 graded examples. Oh, and the cover is by...Zina.

@Scifinator You have some rare and odd comics that are hard to give advice on. How about this one (also rare and odd), although I already made my decision:

Sell or Hold for $750

@Flanders - VoH 10 6.0 @ 2 $750 - I would SELL as highest price paid was in 2019 @ $500 and my thinking is that collectors of Golden Age comics will/and arguably are contracting. Though that may be more true of personality based comics like Gene Autry, 3 Stooges, etc.

Sold! My first Comiclink sale. Having to pay the extra shipping isn't fun but I got far more than I was expecting, even after fees and shipping costs.

I'd try to get a bit more for it. Sales have been inconsistent but have been closer to $140 average. The $120 price is what shows up as FMV on gocollect if you don't expand the sales in 9.6 but it's a cool issue that will hold or increase in value.

Last 3 sales are: $269 and $265 on 3/13 and $351 on 3/15, so you should not sell for $230.

I would take the $120. X-Men are super-hot right now to the extent that people are willing to pay $100 for a completely random book that probably printed a million copies. But there's nothing special in X-Men 11 and you'll never be able to time to market coming back down. Might as well get it out of your hands.

Just got the grades on a recent CGC order.

I have a 9.8 ToyBiz variant of Spider-Man 2099 #1 coming back.

Last sale in October was for $1600. Asking prices on e-bay are $2698 & $4k (OBO).

Sell, or hold?

@00slim Congrats on the grade! Personally, I'd sell right now. People are flush with stimulus money and tax refunds right now. That being said, I do think the value is going to go up as you get closer to Into the Spiderverse 2, but personally, I say sell. Good luck!

I would put up at a high price and see what the market will bare on it. An auction in one of the "Prime" auctions at MCS or ComicLink is another option, there have been quite a few incidents of key and rarer comics far exceeding market prices almost to the point that makes me wonder are some of these bidders trying to launder money, lol.

So, I purchased this book back in December.

I was not planning on selling it and I’m still not sure I want to, honestly. But I sent it in for grading and I just discovered it’s coming back a 7.0 from CGC with off-white pages. The highest on the census between both CGC & CBCS.

Full disclosure, there is a PGX 9.4 floating around, somewhere, but does that count?

The current market madness is the only thing making me consider selling it. It would be a long while before I could find another, never mind one in the same condition.

I estimate it to be worth $1500 (speculation on my part, but the sole 6.0 out there is probably worth $900 now).

What would be a good “I don’t wanna sell it” price?

@00slim - "What would be a good “I don’t wanna sell it” price?" LOL, I have a few of those. That price is the "I can't imagine it going for this price" number. Maybe for you, that is $2,500 or maybe it is $4,999. Or, maybe it the price of the comic that you want to get into your collection now but your just not willing/able to pay that price right now.
