@dielinfinite I knew there was a picture of a book like that and was searching the forum. You beat me to it, which makes sense since it's your book

Itโ€™s just the bullets from the front cover coming out the back.

I'd like to think it's a book from the jilted lover collection.

Unbeknownst to the owner, their significant other in a quiet rage went to town on a select few books punching holes in the back cover then carefully sliding them back in the mylar for a future surprise ๐Ÿ‘

I figured it was 10 year old getting their moneys worth from a dime comic by turning it into a bag of confetti in the least damaging way possible. Didn't destroy the pages or cover, just the unnecessary back cover.

The punch holes didn't look like they were old. The inside page didn't have dots where the uv light may have changed the page color if the punch holes were old

Definitely not on that basis; the book's worth much more unslabbed.

@Redmisty4me You are obviously opposed to slabbing this book. Assuming a cost of $70 to ship, press and slab...is the $70 cost the only thing that puts you in the non-slabbing camp? Is there any issue other than the $70 cost?

How does a book be worth more uncertified?

Over grading it and pricing it accordingly?

That's my position, though I think it wisest for the OP to pursue a variety of opinions outside this forum. No, but I'm not interested in further articulating my views, hence my suggestion that the OP seek a variety of opinions as outlined.

Circumstances vary.

What is "over grading?" (A difference of opinion on grade?)

But circumstances vary; the OP would be wise to proceed as I've suggested IMHO.

As someone that is decisive given various options I would suggest the OP makes a decision already without seeking more opinions. You've had more than enough opinions to make a reasonable decision and there's no need to invest any more of your time seeking out anymore. If you want one more opinion, I'd send it in under the consumer tier to CBCS for grading and a press screening. Worst case you pay $5-$10 if CBCS doesn't think pressing will improve the grade and maybe a bit more for grading if they bump it to the next tier. There's a 10% discount off grading at the moment. I would also consider sending in several more comics for grading to reduce the overall cost of shipping.

Some good points, but the OP would be wise to seek opinions beyond the nearly uniform suggestions provided here; that so many opinions have been provided by a group which shares the same strong bias is not particularly compelling in the larger real world context, and for the reasons I've outlined.

I'm responding with the OP's best interests in mind, and not the protection of my bias.

it is really simple - if goal is to sell the book - then it should get slabbed

if reason is for personal use - then it depends what OP wish to use it for.

Disagree, but the OP should seek opinions beyond this forum.

Perhaps.

As the topic has shifted to an unnamed troll & trolling, one thing I've observed is that they often aren't aware of who they are, but the biggest tell that someone is either a troll or engaged in trolling is the introduction of the accusation - a smelt/dealt kind of thing.

To accuse another of being a troll is derailing, off-topic and though often *cleverly* phrased, a personal attack.

In other words, trolling.

It is a conversation I have with my son (a dealer) often. He believes a lot of books do not increase in value through slabbing, but some do. Optimist me says do it for every key, so I do, if it will likely sell for at least $100. Plus I just canโ€™t tell.
No doubt my son is correct, but I like the Christmas effect of getting my grades, and having a bunch of slabs, encased. Curious what the poster will choose.

@EbayMafia they even had wrestling on tv back in Brisbane when I was in junior high.

Hulk hogan, that guy man savage, Andre the giant, ect. Was fun to watch but was aired quite irregular down there.
It was like the show was thrown in with a bunch of shows the network down there bought. ๐Ÿ‘
