$42k. Dang. I would buy 21,000 copies of Darkhawk #1 and 21,000 copies of Sleepwalker #1 with that scratch.

Unless the guy from Arlington sold his whole collection to get that book! |

I've heard that people from the trading card hobby are injecting cash into comics now, but it wouldn't surprise me if other investors (real estate, Wall Street, precious metals, etc) are getting in on the action.

There are 13 9.9 graded copies on the CGC census. There is a single 10.0 graded copy using the 13 to 1 ratio that puts it at $546,000 I'll take it!! |

My guess is there’s anxiety about the stock market and people are finding alternative investments, much like precious metals going up when the market drops. But, for all our puzzlement at insane prices, we don’t often ask where this new money is coming from. I will say that it does feel like a lot of collectors are at the ground floor of a growing market. |

Like the one 9.9 graded Hulk 181 that is probably a $1,000,000 book. I remember a few months ago I saw a 9.9 ASM 361 on the CGC boards for $10,000 I don't know if it sold for that but wouldn't be surprised if it did. |
