It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
In the spirit of What Are You Listening To, this is a What Are You Watching thread. The first installment is a film I've watched before many years ago called Equilibrium staring Christian Bale. I loved the movie the first time I watched and still love it now. Some call this film a knock off of The Matrix in its style..I disagree but do recognize why some might say that. Its a great film in my opinion so if you haven't watched it, do yourself a favour.

I watched The Thing from 1982 a couple of nights back. Last night I checked out Nomadland clickable text
last night. The Thing of course is one of the greats. Nomadland was pretty good. A lot of the characters are actual Van Dwellers.
Tonight I'm gonna check out Monster Hunter (2021) I expect it to be subpar at best but I don't mind. Simple dumb action.

I just watched this on TNT. This is another movie that I absolutely love!! There aren't many movies that I like to watch more than once or twice, but this is one of them. It is, hands down, my favorite Denzel Washington movie!! Mind you, not many people agree with me. LOL But if you watch it, you will never be able to hear a certain song without this movie popping into your head!!!

@Dalkiel Tonight, I have no obligations or tasks so its movie night, all night. Its Saturday, I'm having a few drinks and watching great films. A little while back I watched The Road Warrior, now I just finished Equilibrium, next up 1982's The Thing if I can catch it on one of my streaming services.

EQUILIBRIUM looks like a good movie. But I don't remember seeing it in the theaters. Did it go straight to video?

@Rafel no, it bombed at the box office taking in less than $6 million WW. Too bad because it deserved a far better fate.

I was on school vacation this week, so I re-watched the first season (and part of the second season) of an old series I really liked when it came out - Chuck. Long before he was SHAZAM/Captain Marvel, Zachary Levi was Nerd Herder/Spy Chuck Bartowski. Reminds me of an updated The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes - an old Disney movie that stared a very young Kurt Russell.

Equilibrium is a good one. We have that on DVD. I also remember enjoying Fallen.

I've been working through The Boys on Amazon Prime. I enjoyed the first season but it doesn't really end. Like, there are a couple of lessons learned and whatnot, but nothing you would call an arc. And it doesn't have a cliffhanger so much as a brand new plot point. I'm on episode 3 or 4 of season 2, hoping for a good wrap-up. Both seasons are 8 episodes and episodes are about an hour, so you can crank through it relatively quickly.

Before that I watched season 4 of the Fargo TV series. I like Fargo (both the movie and the previous seasons) and it was well-acted, but I think I might be burnt out on the theme.

@GAC I remember seeing Equilibrium at a LanParty back in 2002. Someone was sharing a boot of it on their computer. Was a pretty cool flick!

Here's one of my all time favorite films "The Dead Zone". what makes this a remarkable film is the acting, it sucks you into the movie and you hurt for and root for the protagonist, Christopher Walken. Martin Sheen is excellent at the antagonist. I have to admit, I can't put my finger on what makes this movie so great but everyone, without exception, that i've recommended this film to has loved it. If you have never seen this move or if you think you've seen this movie (meaning you've seen some of it) you should watch it (again). Here is the trailer and believe me it does not do it justice.

Next to comics, movies (and to an extent tv shows) are an absolute passion for me. When I saw this thread I couldn’t wait to get some new suggestions for a few new films or series to check out, and to suggest a few of my own! Loved what I’ve read so far btw - awesome start! Here’s a few suggestions...

1.No Country for Old Men
2.Troll Hunter
3.Let the Right One In (or the remake Let Me In)
4.Heavy Metal
5.Animalympics
6.Hot Stuff (this may be a hard one to find)
7.Beast Machines (follow-up to Beast Wars)
8.Creepshow (the movie AND series)
9.The Witch
10.Primal (excellent series imo!)
11.Wilfred (you’d just have to watch this show; I can’t begin to even explain! Lol!)
12.Little Britain (this show is so off the wall!)
13.The Benny Hill Show (every episode is just pure genius. 👍🏻)
14.Father Ted (LOVED this show!)

Just a few off the top of my head, but there’s so much more I’ll have to share soon. Enjoy! 😁👍🏻

I'll be watching it solo, or with an adult female. Depends on the timing.

I watched a portion of that movie at my Sister's house a few years ago. But it was late and I had to leave, and work the next day,... and totally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. I need to see that movie in it's entirety!

@Murmonster, Thanks for the spoilers dude! LOL

Agreed, the cinematography and the acting are amazing. the best part is the Movie holds up because there were no dated million dollar special effects. I forgot to mention it's based on a Steven King novel.

@sportshort Too funny I didn’t want to be too descriptive on my response as to provide spoilers then I thought this movie is almost 40 years old does the no spoilers rule even still apply?
