For those who may not know:

- It's a 4-hour movie.
- It'll be released on March 18th.
- I bought a new Sony 65" 4K TV to watch it on.

That 4 hour run time is a little intimidating, but I’m really hopeful it’s better than that generic super team flick that was released in the theaters.

It almost has to be...

I'll be ready for it. You have that pause button for a reason my man! I think that the runtime will ultimately hurt its re-watch value, more than anything. It'll depend on how much it keeps your eyes glued to the screen. For example: I can re-watch Infinity War any day. Endgame? Not so much.

It'll be better, for sure, just because of continuity. How much better? That's what I'm excited to find out. Also can't wait to experience Junkie XL's contribution to the film.

HBO Max. I'll be signing up on the day of release, sharing the login with my family and friends. IIRC, HBO Max has all of the DC Animated stuff, and a lot of movie releases this year, so I may not be cancelling for awhile.

Internationally, ZSJL will be released through other purchase/streaming methods. Likely the same services that distributed WW84 worldwide. WB hasn't been very supportive or helpful for the rollout of this project.

@theCapraAegagrus

Yeah, I’ll probably watch it in 2 parts and I thought I heard some of the Junkie XL score on that trailer.

But, I also loved the MOS theme, as well.

I do! I got for something else earlier in the year.... I can't remember what though. Wonder Woman #2 maybe? If so, what was I thinking

@theCapraAegagrus

So, they don’t have every animated series yet.

They did just put the JL series and JLU on there.

Superman was the only thing I saw missing from 90s DCU. Oh, and Static.

No super friends super powers or the old 80s Batman series.

But, with BTAS, Batman Beyond and JL, I can manage.

BTAS and JL are the 2 biggest ones, to me. I watched them almost religiously as a kid.

Doesn't HBO Max have a lot of the animated films, though, too?

@theCapraAegagrus

I’m not familiar enough with films to know if they are all there.

I think I’ve seen a dozen or so on there.

I’m fairly certain new frontier is on there.

Let me finish work today and I’ll see if I can get you a screen shot.

We like it for the HBO stuff, but I really loved that 90/00s era of DCAU, so I get some mileage out of that, too.

@theCapraAegagrus I posted it here clickable text post 83 but it definitely deserves its own thread. I can not wait for this movie! Hopefully, this becomes the definitive version of the film. I hope's it's a great success and WB adopts it and changes there mind on future sequels.

Do it!

And you might already know this, but if you have AT&T for mobile service, they include HBO max for free.

It’s a good enough streaming service I’m going to dump Netflix for it.

This is going to be a pretty long wait for JL.

I might need to give the animated series another run through before the ZS cut comes to HBO Max.

I really wish they could bottle what the DCAU was able to do. They pretty much nailed all the Batman villains, made Superman villains like Toy Man interesting and gave us an excellent Darkseid story.

That's before I get to the JL series which were just phenomenal. That series was my introduction to the Question.

"The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister."

One of my treasured pictures is my son and I posing with Kevin Conroy. That was a blast AND he paid for it!

Even with the additional hour plus this movie can't be saved. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either.

You mean 3+ hours...? It's a different movie.

I don’t know how much this might salvage the movie, but I’ve had to readjust my expectations on it.

I think I expected a few different scenes and maybe some editing differences.

The more I read about this, it’s almost like a totally different movie.

Will it be better? I don’t know, but I’m definitely willing to give it a shot.

What hurt the theatrical release of JL for me was how generic it was.

None of the score and very few of the themes and plot threads laid in previous ZS movies were there.

This cut should address those shortcomings, but I’ve been wrong before.

Agreed. This is a different movie. It looks and feels different. I honestly didn't mind Josstice League but I'm optimistic I will really enjoy this film. I'm hoping this film becomes the definitive version as this appears to be what we should have received the first time.

Josstice League isn't horrible, but it's not good. The first 30 seconds had me cringing in theaters. It set a bad tone.

Obviously, ZSJL will have some of the same beats. Steppenwolf invades Earth, seeks the Mother Boxes, Batman puts together a team, they resurrect Superman, etc. How that all comes about matters, though.

Oh, like you have a life and can’t spend four hours watching a movie!

Just kidding! : )

I get it. It’s a long time. It reminds me of the last Lord of the Rings movie.

Went around lunchtime in December to see it and came out and it was dark!

Knowing how I doze off during movies these days, I’ll just spend the week watching it, like a mini-series!

Lord of the Rings?

Slept through the whole thing.

Bad Moms kept me awake however!

I am very weary of any DC related film.....the first JLA trailers looked good too...and we saw what that lead to....I'll be a sucker though and give this a try....I keep hoping they will make good movies!!

I almost never go fan boy about comic films but sometimes the inconsistencies in for instance someones powers from one part of a movie to the next (never mind one film to the next) kind of just turns me off.

I'm rooting for this one though...but yeah...4hrs!!!! ouch

I am all in for this. I am a huge fan of MoS, and I've wanted to see the full arc that was originally envisioned for these movies since it came out 8 years ago. The likelihood of that 5 movie arc ever being completed is practically non-existent, but at least I'll get 3 out of 5.
