You and Mr. Sigs are making it hard for me to keep up with y'all. You have some sweet books. But those Adventures are Golden Age, even though they have the look and "feel" of the silver age. I haven't started on my golden age books yet.

I think I will do a silver age Captain Marvel run in this thread. I have most, it not all of them. But it is a lot of scanning.

@conditionfreak - Silver Age started in 1956 with Showcase #4 and the Flash reboot. These Adventures are from 1960 and 1961.

Thanks, @Offbeat_Archives. Some very interesting and strange covers for sure. These DC's are really hard to find in high grades. If you look at the CGC census (CBCS is working on their census, so I have heard), there are less than 10 books graded 9.0 or better for any of those issues (and I am not saying that my raw books are high grade, they are probably mostly mid-grade with a few close to higher grades).

@esarvo You are right on target about the near-impossibility of nabbing DCs of this general time in grade. Other than a few collectors with foresight (or OCD) nobody was really buying DCs with the intent of collecting. Even after early fandom kicked in and started nabbing multiples of Marvels off the stands and keeping them in HG most '50s to early '60s DCs were neglected for the most part for quite awhile.

@esarvo Thanks to the OCD I do still have much of my childhood collection. Unfortunately when I discovered wine, women, and song I sold off all of the better stuff. I do my daily kick-myself-in-the-ass routine every time I see a sweet HG key book and wonder if it is one that financed one of my parties, guitars, or tattoos. All of the Marvels were from a sweet one-owner collection I picked up in about '80 that would definitely have been a pedigree if found now. &^%$!!!

All of these books are scattered to the wind (pic from '88):

Here is the only Adventure Comics I have.
I picked it pretty cheap last year when there was still a comic shop within 40 miles.

Here's three from 1967 that you don't see everyday. And yes, there was even ANOTHER Captain Marvel around for an extremely short amount of time. When he yelled "SPLIT!" his head, arms and legs flew off. What a great super power!

How about some Gold Key comics? These might bring back some fond memories also.
