great thread idea.

Watched this last weekend. It was particularly awful. I can stomach cheesy Vietnam movies like Chuck Norris/Missing in Action and even Michael Dudikoff/Platoon Leader but this one was atrocious. I think I turned it off halfway through.

I actually enjoyed that one quite a bit as well.

Agreed. I, too, liked this movie...it reminded me of the Road Warrior although nowhere near as good but still pretty good.

Couldn’t do Waterworld, but I’m one of the three people on the planet, who likes the postman.

Count me as #4.

I'm number 5. I like the Postman. Also, I'm glad to see Will Patton and Kevin Costner acting against one another in Yellowstone.

It is too bad that the rules of the thread state that the movie in question had to lose money. Finding out that Batman and Robin made money was surprising. It is so bad.

I don't know if Plan 9 From Outer Space is anywhere near the worst Box Office money makers, but it clearly is a stinker! However, that's why I like it- It's hilariously bad!

Manos: The Hands Of Fate had to have played in a theater somewhere. Would that count? Another hilariously bad film.

For people who want a truly terrible film, check out Verotika.

It’s Glenn Danzigs movie. I don’t think it had a major release but it is really awful.

I couldn’t finish it.

Like a few others have mentioned above I also liked Waterworld and also The Postman and dare I say Green Lantern.

I've just seen Wonder Woman 1984 what a load of tosh especially as I loved the first movie.

Some of you might hate me for this, but I tried watching the first Avengers movie twice and couldn't make it past 20 minutes before ejecting. Still haven't seen the sequels.

And a couple other franchise films - "Rambo: Last Blood" and "Terminator: Dark Fate". Those are 2 films that really stunk up the house. #barfsmiley

Well, if we wanna talk about movies I genuinely hated that I’ll likely get a lot of crap for disliking?

Logan (story elements/character resolutions).

Mad Max: Fury Road (no story & the guy playing guitar while people battled around him was the last straw for my suspension of disbelief).

Interstellar (predicted it early & simply didn’t enjoy it).

I'm going to throw two books into this (both of which were made into movies, so I'll allow it). It's very rare that I start a book and don't finish it, but both of these just got so ridiculous at a certain point, I just stopped and never finished them.

Patriot Games - Tom Clancy: I was a big Clancy fan and had read both Hunt for Red October and Red Storm Rising. Loved both of them. But Patriot Games, no. The Prince of Wales going to Jack Ryan's house for dinner was bad enough (Clancy writing his personal fantasy into the book), but when he had the Prince jumping in a boat to chase down the terrorists......I stopped reading. Last Clancy book I ever picked up.

Angels & Demons - Dan Brown: As with above, I like the DaVinci Code, so gave this one a chance. I got as far as the helicopter and just couldn't read any more. I never read another Dan Brown book either.

This one may have broken even, but for me it was a huge disappointment. A year or two after the original Star Wars film was released, Disney came out with one of their first PG-rated (or was it GP back then?) movie - The Black Hole. In my memory, this was a giant boring disaster of a film that was a total waste of time, money, and actors. I have learned since then to never expect too much when going to see a movie, or you will be probably be disappointed.

PS - Back around the same time period as this, me and my buddies would go to see every second-rate B movie that came out. We saw them all, from It’s Alive, Orca the Killer Whale, Tentacles, Phantasm, etc. And we loved them all for what they were.

It was a huge disappointment after Rambo. The 4th movie depicted Rambo the way that David Morrell wrote him in the novel First Blood. He was angry, burnt-out, and suffering from PTSD. Stallone should have left it alone after we witnessed Rambo walked down the road and into the drive to his family's home in the same clothes that we saw him wearing in the first movie. It would have been a fitting ending for the character on film.

I love Sweeney Todd! I’m not a musical fan, but I am a Tim Burton fan. I like the cast. the darkness of the story and it was very well done adaption of a Broadway play.

Yeah I probably would have liked it if it weren't for all of the singing and dancing 💩 I did not know it was a musical going in and the minute I heard singing I was done!

@Pre_Coder I'm pretty much with you on all 3. Avengers 1 is probably the MCU movie that I would be least likely to watch a second time. Rambo: Last Blood is Trite Shite (I may have just made that term up?). Terminator: Dark Fate...I also did not make it past 30 minutes. Where we may differ is that I don't have to "Eject" anything as my technology may be more cutting edge than yours, lol.

This one, 1931, was a sort of racist documentary about Australia and some Pacific Islands, narrated by Lowell Thomas.
They happened upon a topless white woman who had gone off the grid and was living with a native in a hut in Australia. That was the draw.
Australia banned it permanently for racism back when it first came out.

it turns out there is a worst move than Damnation Alley, I must have blocked it from my memory like some traumatic event. After I saw Star Wars (1977) I was jonesing for anything sci-fi and then the following year (1978) a movie came out that had the most awesome name of any movie that came before it Laserblast it stunk like a skunk crawled into a putrid carcass and died.

@sportshort - I found "Laserblast" and other putrid b-movies to be more tolerable/fun when accompanied by the MST3K riff party. Though I had my fill of them after viewing 40+ movies some years ago.

They talk a LOT in those Avengers movies; Iron Man is always angry uncling somebody...

But after resisting for years, I FINALLY saw the Ultron one with that creepy guy doing the Ultron voice, and it was amazeballs!

The thing with the twins and the Vision guy - just fantastic.

So I'm saying that while I generally agree, that particular movie is really good - I'm talking Spider-Man 3 w/Topher Grace good!

A film has to make something like 3 times its budget to be considered financially successful. Finanicial success should not be indicative of quality, for example those on-screen abortions that Michael Bay called Transformers films. Lost in Translation may be my least favorite film. I had some expectations for it, and I felt like it was watching mud dry.

As far as legit bad films, Bats (1999), Darkness Falls (2003), and Death Wish V: The Face of Death (1994). The last one hurt because I very much enjoyed Charles Bronson and that one was just painful.
