Worst movie you have watched!!!13717

Moderator Jesse_O private msg quote post Address this user
Ok, the movie collection thread got me thinking of "3000 miles to Graceland" with Kurt Russell, Kevin Costner, David Arquette and Courtney Cox that came out in 2001. I watched it one time at a friend's house and it was the worst movie that I have ever seen.

It's one of those that you want to be good. At the time, the leading actors and actresses were doing great. The plot sounded good. It was about a casino heist in Vegas during an Elvis impersonation contest. So, decent plot, decent cast, you would think it would be a good movie.

Obviously, it wasn't. It was one of those movies where a half hour in, you can tell it's going to be a bomb. But you continue watching, thinking that it has to get better. Somewhere around the hour mark, you realize it hasn't gotten better. Ten minutes before the end, you're asking yourself why you are still watching it, but now you're invested. It's like a challenge to watch it to the end, so you do.

I only watched it that one time, and not very closely at that. But I didn't realize how bad it did at the box office until I looked it up. This is from Wikipedia: "Before the film's opening, Warner Bros. released a series of animated prequels, "The Road to Graceland", voiced by stars Costner, Slater, Long, and Woodbine. The film was panned by the critics and was a box office bomb making only $18.7 million against its $62 million budget. It received five nominations at the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Costner), Worst Supporting Actress (Cox), Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Couple (Russell and either Costner or Cox)."

So, what is the worst movie you have ever seen?

One rule!! It has to have made less in the box office than it cost to make!!!! We are talking TRULY BAD movies, not just opinions.

The worst movie I can think of off the top of my head was direct to video, so I guess it doesn't qualify. It was part of a popular (enough) series and had the main star though.

For me, it was the first movie that I ever walked out of... "Masters of the Universe" from 1987. Wikipedia reports a budget of $22M with a box office take off $17.3M.

Man, that movie sucked.

Into the woods OMFG what a nightmare. After the fairy tale of the original finished. They did the day after which was another 30 / 40 mins.

That musical with one chorus was a ear worm gone bad

I found David Lynch’s Twin Peaks incredibly frustrating. More recently the Lighthouse was also very frustrating to watch. Pretty much the aimless art house movies that feel
Like they could be good but go nowhere and accomplish nothing. Yeah. All of them. Just put them all in the same bucket and lower them down the latrine.

Sadly, the movies that I've hated the most all seem to have done well at the box office. The Village, District 9, Cabin Fever, and 90% of the DC movies. 😆

The death collector is so bad you can't even find it. I have a rare print of this movie and it makes me think of how something is rare and impossible to find only because it should have been buried in the gates of hell itself into oblivion.

I don't even know where to begin. I can say all 3 Spider-Man movies with Tobey Mcquire,... especially the symbiote cryfest.

1995 Waterworld as most people hated it (yet I liked it a lot)...HOWEVER:

235 million dollars including distribution and only grossed 88 million in the US yet did better overseas with a total of 264 million gross.

It was actually in the profit margin lol. (DISQUALIFIED)

Two movies that I couldn't stand but I stupidly rode out to the end. They were loved by critics and I thought there must be some big reward at the end if I just kept watching...Birdman and Black Klansman.

Damnation Alley - who would have thought the world would end and become post apocalyptic within 2 years and there would be giant scorpions and flesh eating cockroaches in that amount of time. At the end (spoiler alert) the heroes find a city that is surprisingly intact along with it's inhabitants all looking normal. What the...? Anyway this move sucks don't watch it but do watch it (otherwise you won't believe that the move sucks as much as it does). Whatever...

Only reason I didn't walk out is I thought the friend I watched it with was digging it. Only reason he didn't walk out was because he thought the same from me.

The Village
Crash (David Cronenberg 1996)
