Suggestions on framing original comic page with published pages13709

Collector mattness private msg quote post Address this user
My wife and I were drawn in a comic together and we would like to frame the original art page with the published comic cover and published page that we appear on. Does anyone have experience/suggestions with this ie placement of pages etc. Thank you.

I've seen it matted side to side. Also, I've seen it with the OA on top with the published cover underneath it.

For years I've wanted to get a original art framed of my marvel comics presents.
When things settle down I finally want to get it done.
I've got a couple of copies of the book.

Was thinking on the left hand side just have the front cover of the book.
The middle would be the original art page.
Then on the right hand side have a cut out of the page from the comic to show the published art work.

Obviously behind uv glass.
Which professionally done will probably cost more then the original art page.
Anyway that was my thoughts how to proceed. Whether it can be physically done I've no clue.

I've only had one page framed and I had it done professionally. Matting, UV glass, etc. Been close to 20 years and it still looks like new. I kind of wanted to have a copy of the book framed with it but I decided that it was just going to be too large once it was done. That was pretty much what stopped me. Especially when the plan was to hang more later.

Many options with accompanying price points.

Depending on how good you are with such things, a trip to Michael's can yield a lot of options. I buy the nicer "floating" frames for my original art and also make sure that they're not in a location that gets a lot of direct sun.

I find it classier to just frame the OA page itself. It gets more expensive the larger the frame.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
It might be worth sketching and measuring out the size you would need for different configurations (apologies if you've already done this). If you have the OA above and the two comic pieces side-by-side below, like a triangle, that's gotta be at least two feet of vertical space when you frame it all out. Where do you want your frame to go, and do you have that much room? Maybe you have more horizontal space and it would be better to go side by side instead above/below, or to have all three side by side. Even if you have plenty of space regardless, sketching it out might help you decide.

@mattness I would take everything to a place like Joann fabrics. They have a frame department and could make recommendations and show you what they are able to do. You can also do things like pick the color of the frame and matting. They also have UV protective glass. I had them do a signed and numbered Berni Wrightson print for me. I really liked how it turned out and it is very professional looking. Make sure to use their coupons though because it is pricey. They do a real nice job.

I started framing OA in black frame/mat and then moved to white mat. I think it looks great!

This is the place I use for all of my original art needs. They provide the frame, acid-free mats, UV plexiglass, and then ship it to you to assemble (easy stuff).

Email them with the size of your art and the published page, and they will help you design the frame: design@framedandmatted.com

If you decide to go with Michael's, they frequently have custom fram sales. I've seen up to 75% off. My suggestion is to download the app and every few weeks or so they put out their coupons.

Below is some of their work.

The lady suggested the octagon border. I found that if you ask their opinion, they can offer some neat suggestions....

Oh, and just make sure (no matter whom you use) that they NEVER permanently attach your art to the foamboard. The most they should ever use is removable archival tape or those photo corners.

+1

You can use Hobby Lobby too. Like Michaels they run specials all the time. Hobby Lobby has done some wonderful work for me. Our local store has cut some of the characters names at the bottom of the mats for me they have done. Also, they have cut out the artist name too.
