Finally got around to watching ’Mud’ on Netflix. I have never been a big McConaughey fan, but I’d heard a lot of good things about it.

It was a good coming of age movie. I liked it, & I’m glad I watched it but I doubt I’ll be adding it to my collection.

That said, the pacing reminded me of a much darker Indie movie called ‘Blue Ruin’. If you liked ‘Mud’ or revenge movies, maybe check it out. I believe it’s on Netflix as well.

I'd add Escape from LA to that list.

He was good doing this at the end of 3000 Miles to Graceland. He does a great Elvis impersonation.

Just a heads up, guys. The complete Universal Monsters collection (30 films on blu-ray) is on sale on Amazon at the moment as a limited time deal for $81.99.

That’s about $2.70 per film!

Batman the Animated series Collector’s Edition. An amazing set! The only thing I can really say against it is that it is missing the Mystery of the Batwoman movie and the accompanying Catch Me short. Otherwise, a great set!

And the follow-up, Batman Beyond Collector’s edition. I’m not really fond of Funkos but I really like the packaging for the exclusive figure in this set. The book-like presentation of the original series is probably my favorite packaging for a blu ray set so the digipak is a bit of a downgrade but I still prefer it to standard blu ray cases.

These are awesome sets. I waited years for them to release the blu-ray edition series set.

I didn’t pre-order the “Beyond” set, but I did grab it later on sale.

Did you hear that HBO MAX is reportedly working on a sequel series to this original Batman Animated series?

@00slim Honestly, I don’t even follow HBO Max or Disney Plus news because I’m not subscribing to any more streaming services, so unless they do a physical release, I’m fine not knowing about ‘em

I get that. The only reason I move HBO MAX, is, it was included in a bundle when I added data to my tablet.

If the Batman Animated series does get a continuation series, the good news is, it’s very likely to get a physical release.

And I forgot to ask: there are Disney movie club exclusives of all these?

Three Musketeers
Cool Runnings
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
Honey, I Blew Up The Kid
Return to Oz
George of the Jungle
Parent Trap
Freaky Friday

I loved the live action ‘Three Musketeers’ movie. That would be great to have on blu-ray. And ‘Return to OZ’ was so dark! It kinda freaked me out as a kid. I wouldn’t mind upgrading that one to HD either.

Yeah, most don’t get a general release so you either have to chain yourself to a Disney Movie Club to buy them direct or buy them second hand on ebay, which is what I’ve done. They can be a bit more expensive but you’re not on the hook for several Disney movies at full retail

So, I’m watching the original ‘The Blob’ (1958) starring Steve McQueen, and that made me think of this classic, ‘The Getaway’ (1972).

I never upgraded my DVD, because even the blu-ray version only includes a Mono audio mix. I hope this one gets a top notch HD treatment in the future. It deserves it!

That's a neat set. I have the dvd volumes that were sold at Toys R Us stores. No desire to get bluray set as there isn't much of a difference in quality of a cartoon from DVD/Bluray. Such a great animated series. I watched that everyday after school growing up.

I know you were talking about "The Getaway," @00slim, but since you mentioned "The Blob," I'm not sure which version you're watching but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Criterion Collection treatment of that movie. The colors are just incredible.

@DWeeB1967 I’m actually watching it on HBO MAX. BUT the Criterion logo rolled before the credits. I’m assuming they’re streaming that transfer.

That said, I’m sure it would look even better on disc.

That is very much on a case by case basis. Something simple like South Park or the Simpsons, sure, but Batman very much benefits from the upgrade

I've had my eye on that "Fly" collection for a while now. I hope the prints are nice quality. Pretty much all of the ShoutFactory discs I own have been really nice so I would expect them to be, too. 👍

I really enjoyed seasons 1-3 of TWD,.. after that, the show became weak IMO. And midway through season 3, Rick Grimes character went to sh!t. Andrew Lincoln over-dramatized the role, and overall, I never considered him to be a real leader. After S3, there were episodes, here and there, that were enjoyable.

The Governor eventually became well worn out.
