The Claremont signing thread got me thinking about signatures. Who's signature have you gotten that you think is the cleanest / best looking? From my personal collection, I have to go with Joe Sinnott. Just gorgeous IMO.

I think Jim Steranko has the best looking signature by far.

@GAC I would have to agree with that assessment.

Yes....it's because he does that warm up marker flick thing with his hand before signing....LOL

@Frontier2Xterra your book is awesome, don't get me wrong...Joe Sinnott has a very clean and nice signature. Jim Steranko's signature is a work of art in itself. There's some boardies here that have awesome examples...I hope they post. There's an X-Men 50 in green sharpie that's particularly stunning.

@GAC I don't disagree. I unfortunately don't have any of his sigs in my collection...yet.

Claremont's signature is horrendous. I wouldn't, and don't, own one. However, if that is what you like, then go for it. Outside of a celebrity signature or two, I'm partial to Karl Story and Phil Jimenez. Of course, placement has a lot to do with it for me.

as others have said - Steranko!!

Although I would also put Walt Simonsons name in the hat..if only because his sig looks like a dinosaur!!
He wasn't doing sketches the 1 time he was close to me but I did get a large signature in my sketch book!

Zeck is also very nice!

I was fortunate enough to meet Joe Sinnott a few times. He was a really nice gentleman who appreciated his fans. His was another sad loss in 2020.

I think Mike Grell has a very cover friendly sig.

If this one passes verification it will be my favorite. I think it's nice looking and very appropriate for this particular artist:

I’m to lazy to dig it out right now but I think the most beautiful signature I have on a comic is “Edward James Olmos” on a Battlestar Galactica photo cover

I also like Bill Sienkiewicz' sig, when it looks good lol
I like the first three sigs, but the last three and the one on the sketch don't look as nice. These were done at the same time.

Was somewhat close with Joe and Mark (his son). They live nearby me. Exchanged Christmas gifts with Joe for a few years.
If you look at my avatar, it's actually an original pen, ink, color from Joe Sinnott for my 50th bday. He re-did the cover of SS #3 except stuck a birthday cake at the bottom. Favorite thing I own.

He shares a page with no one

lol Beat me to it.
I got this closing night at SDCC '19. Mike and I just finished getting all his stuff organized and ready to take out when Walt walked by and irritated Security by starting a conversation with him LOL.
When they were done I asked for his sig in my book, which he happily did, and I scored a few Fanboy points with Walt by telling Mike what the sig represents (Mike didn't know, surprisingly since they're good friends).

I do like the the Steranko signature a lot. Here is mine:

I also really like the Todd sigs as well. Unfortunately I have none. I got some books I am saving up for him to sign eventually. That said I am still very partial to the Crain signature.

Walt's dinosaur signature is fantastic.
When he gets something really special to sign (oversized IDW hardcovers, original art, etc..) he is extremely deliberate with his signature and it looks great!
