Richard Corben has passed away due to complications from heart surgery. He was a pillar in my love of comic books and his beautiful artwork will live on forever.

Godspeed, Mr Corben. Thank you for everything you gave us.

Great artist! His work was always a little freaky, which I loved and his draftsmanship was impeccable!

Saw this at HoustonCon in 1971, and right now it seems but a moment ago...

Neverwhere was like every red-blooded geek fanboy’s fantasy in the 70’s.

In remembrance of a great artist and innovator.

One word of warning though: Richard Corben’s film, as so much of his illustration art, pushed the PG-13 envelope. This is openly viewable on YouTube without restrictions, so it should be okay here. But, in retrospect, I felt the need to add a cautionary note to prospective viewers.

Rip in Time was my favorite indy series from the 1980s B&W explosion. His work with Bruce Jones' writing was a win-win. It is a sad day.

I just re-watched the Heavy Metal movie last week, for the first time in probably 20 years, and remembered how much I enjoyed the DEN segment! RIP Mr. Corben.
