Crossing my fingers for you esaravo, hope it all goes well.

I've been running into this problem with the USPS a lot on stuff that needs signatures. I understood them signing when COVID was running wild like Hulkamania, but at least knock on the door and see if someone answers. FedEx waits to see if I answer before leaving a package that requires a signature, and UPS has been spotty. Sometimes they wait for me, other times they leave a notice if I'm not home, and then there are times when UPS leaves a notice then drops the package off the next day without my signature. I'm not seeing the purpose of having a required signature if the delivery person is going to be the one signing.

My fedex guy always gets my signature, but NEVER rings my door bell. I asked him why he won't ring the bell but he mumbled something and stays with the physical knock.

The usps guy typically gets my signature, but this is first time I have no idea why no signature from me. I try to offer drinks whenever I see him. Last person I want to piss off.

Ups guy always stacks boxes next to door and since my door opens outward, I can't open my door all the way. I think he takes pleasure in it.

Doorbells wake napping babies and make young parents curse. If you don't know the people inside,it's best to knock.

@EbayMafia

Never heard of that before. But I also don't have children or know any kids. Interesting nevertheless....

@Bronte Interestingly, salespeople are often taught to knock first rather than ring the doorbell. Theoretically it's helpful to starting off the interaction on a more friendly/familiar basis...the idea being that friends knock and strangers ring doorbells. Also you don't disrupt dogs and babies in every room of the house.

@EbayMafia

My house is kinda large though. If you knock, you won't hear tbe knock if you are in bedrooms or in kitchen. While I see where your coming from, it is definitely not a catch all solution.

Doesn't deserve its own thread but I felt that since i almost fell for it, it might be a good idea to post.

I got a email stating that it needed my credit card to continue a shipment of a package. It didn't originate from a .gov account so I backed out before sending my credit card info.

Would a USPS email ever come from a .gov address? Certainly not the .nl in your screenshot, but the USPS website is a .com.

Yes, it's always important to look at who an email came from (both the name and the address) and who else it went to along with the actual content.

Does the USPS ever send an unsolicited email?

My wife has a USPS account; I'd have to ask her. I do get emails from FedEx whenever I have a package heading to me, whether I knew the package was sent or not. Those are strictly tracking info emails as best I can remember.
