What goes on the label for graded comics?13458

| I have two comics I want to get graded. Flash 114 which is the 2nd appearance of captain cold but when I looked up pictures of this comic slabbed by CBCS the label just says captain cold appearance. I’ve seen other comics that’ll say 2nd appearance of blank. And marvel premiere 47 is similar, slabs say first Scott Lang as ant-man but don’t also say first appearance of Cassie Lang. How do they choose and can you ever request what they put on the label? |

| That would be something you would want to email CBCS customer service about. One thing it could be is that the label notes reflect the status of the character at the time when copies were first being graded, as not every single first appearance is noted for supporting and minor characters, prior to the character’s changes in the 2000’s and the label botes just haven’t been revisited. I have had situations where I’ve had a book graded but it did not mention a notable first appearance, I emailed them afterward and they agreed it update the label. I’d recommend you contact them before to hopefully save yourself the hassle of having to return the book for label updates. |
