PSI Force!! $$$

Any offers?

The sheer amount of ‘80s coming off that cover is a palpable thing.

I guess it's been a while since I looked.

I doubt these (I have 2) are 9.8's. They'll eventually belong to my 2 oldest nephews who watched this religiously as kids.

@Siggy

One of those rare instances where “Collectors Item! First Issue” sort of lived up to the hype.

Eighties properties are hot right now.

There’s no telling what might have value now.

Well, except for anything New Universe related.

I was non-pre-pubescent but still a turd in 91.

I never got into the character but he had a following.

I never could figure out why?

Has he made any big comeback?

You're right, Thundercats actually became a household name. Thunder..Thunder..Thunder..Thundercats! No one ever got a song like that stuck in their heads for Darkhawk, Super Pro or Psi-Force, lol.

No idea. I remember none of the kids that I read comics with had anything with Darkhawk unless he was crossing over to a title we read. He was popular enough for 50ish issues. Just like Nomad got 25ish in the early 90s as well. I'm sure he's got his fans, and Marvel has shown a willingness to go back to some of the more obscure characters from time to time. As others have said, it is most likely speculation about the trademark being renewed.

I enjoyed Darkhawk and Sleepwalker in the 90’s and apparently I have different taste than some. Different strokes for different folks.

@DavidM

Yeah, I wasn’t meaning to mock your tastes.

I was on a bit of break from comics around late 80s/ early 90s and I only saw him pop up as a guest star on a few other comics.

I don’t recall anything “special” about him, so I was curious why marvel is trademarking him and why he has a following.

It seemed different to me, but I don’t know that I thought a tree, who says three words, or a talking raccoon would be popular, either.

You just never know, I guess?

No problem, I didn't take any offense. There's some speculation Darkhawk will appear in the MCU. I enjoyed the series but I don't think he's a particularly strong character. As you said though, if they can make a talking tree popular....

I was reading a ton of books in the 80s/90s and actually liked most of them. My issue at the time was all the cover gimmicks that started popping up. It didn't slow down my reading, it just steered me more towards independent books.

Comic book sense today means NOTHING! Every 1st appearance of someones relative that knew someone who knew someone else is now worth something just because!?? Speculation is just stupid!!!

I actually read Darkhawk back when it was new. I remember that the lady who ran the comic shop I frequented at the time put a copy of #1 in my pull box when it came out because she thought I would like it. It was actually pretty good. Nothing outstanding or particularly original, but it held my interest up to the point where I quit buying new comics in ‘92.

I was young, and thought, why not start a new series from the beginning and continue 20 years later? I quit collecting comics 3 years later.. but I actually like Sleepwalker more, and see potential with his gimmic!!!

just think, Nova and Ms Marvel were cheap #1's to find from the '70s all the way up until a few years back. all it takes is a movie appearance, or a hot new writer to breathe new life into the character!!!

Ha! You just explained why I have a lot of West Coast Avengers. I wanted to start from 1 to however long it lasted.

Ah, well...

It is crazy to watch people grabbing first appearances of obscure characters, hoping to get the next big thing.

I'm still holding out for the grim and gritty Royal Roy movie.

That Royal Roy #1 I have will be money in the bank...
