| So...someone mentioned in another thread something about Darkhawk so I decided to check it out on ebay. Why?? why is this book going for $300 +? Sure...1st appearance of Darkhawk...but it's a nothing character yes? I have 2 of these I bought off the rack back in the day..might have to grade and sell!! |

 All Hail Darkhawk! I bought both of these for $10 (BOTH) a few years ago. Cleaned and pressed both and got 9.8s  Check out that Newsstand Edition!Seriously, it was a long running joke on facebook groups for years until now it's finally gotten notice after Marvel secured a trademark name for Darkhawk so it's got people talking. Personally? I think it's just a simple "renewal" trademark to keep the rights and name reserved for future comics, like a volume 3. I doubt he'll see a big screen appearance but probably another animated Disney+ series like when he was in Spider-man and Avengers, but this time his own perhaps? |

| I gave up arguing/fighting myself over the merits of my personal opinion on a collectible comic being of value a long long long time ago. I also gave up a long long long time ago wondering how the heck a person could pay e+10 power $$$ for a 9.8 over a 9.6 for something clearly subjective; not objective. Now I just embrace a trend whether it's silly, ridiculous, valid, and/or has real data based merit. I am no longer left behind; leaving money on the table with my refusal to acknowledge a trend; regardless of my personal opinion. There must be <facetious> 8 million copies of Darkhawk 1 out there, but hey.... I'm on-board if the masses are! I just need to find my multiple copies. And if they come back 9.8's over the paltry, insignificant 9.6's, all the better..... for someone else. |

| @KatKomics I mentioned Darkhawk in my thread because, as @Hcanes said, the book is a running joke on many comic forums and FB threads. Imagine Ka-Zar the Savage #1 - one of my favorite books (and one of which I've got over two dozen copies) - getting the infamy Darkhawk #1 has. I'll be rich.  Speaking of which, thanks for the tip in this thread. I'll need to stock up on Sleepwalker and maybe a few copies of Ravage 2099 while I'm at it. You know, just in case |
