Wondering what people are collecting in the EPIC line?

I like the x-men runs and characters but won't be buying any of these.

I love the old stories but I am done with Marvel

I It kind of seems like the epic collections are meant to collect smaller arcs runs not big enough for an omnibus or longer stories without as much of the context/tie-ins you would find in an omnibus.

So far I’ve only picked up the first two New Mutant books while a lot of the others I would’ve been interested in I have collected in an omnibus.

What I do have a few of and it took me a while to realize they are different lines, are the “Complete Collection” books and the smaller “Classic” lines

I was a comic book kid in the '70s, and I think the Epic collections are fantastic. What a great, economic way to collect full color, beautiful reprints of the old classics! I remember those huge Treasury editions, which are great in their own way, but at the same time frustrating because there were only four issues contained therein and maybe a few pinup pages. Then, the Masterworks came out in the '90s - great reprints, but WAY too expensive for most to purchase. I hated when Marvel came out with the Classics editions: sure, there's tons of issues in there, but I'm just really disappointed with that art in black & white. The Epic editions finally get all the good stuff in just the right way for just the right price: full color, tons of issues in one (my 10 year old had a great time reading the Spider-Man vol 1 Epic - especially the Annual #1), and at a fair, reasonable price.

Question - are we talking "Epic Collection" trade paperbacks or Epic Comics?

I currently buy the FF, X-Men & Amazing Spider-Man volumes, but mainly the earlier classics. I have been buying them as they come out, but I did skip "X-Men: It's Always Darkest Before the Dawn" volume that I now wish I would have bought & it is now OOP. I was thinking of getting the first couple of Captain America volumes but they are also OOP!

A lot of these books go OOP fast, but eventually get new printings.
