The price on the book reached levels I never thought it would reach. I remember when I got my copy. I had chased it for years. I never saw a copy of it in person until the very early 1990's. Being from a smaller market meant that you heard about it but no one had a copy. Yes, one could find 2nd or later reprints but a 1st print was a unicorn.

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
TMNT #1 is insane!! One of the very few modern books that's worth every penny. I missed the boat on this one because I was collecting silverage books only. I was aware of the book and had opportunity years ago but didnt pull the trigger....regret that for sure.

That's why I bought my #1 last year in July...before it seriously really took off to astronomical prices. It was rising sharp at the end of 2019 but this year it's insanely at a whole new level.

I think my garage is a tunnel to the 1980's. Apparently I can go through it and retrieve historical artifacts as they become relevant. But it only delivers items from the 80's for some reason:

@EbaySeller I lost an A-Team trapperkeeper. If you run across one, it might be mine. I had my name written with black marker on the inside. LOL

Roger that, I'll keep it in mind while I search for my mullet.

Thoughts on the CGC Kevin Eastman Signing? Would it be worth it to crack and send in my Raphael #1 CGC 9.2, TMNT #1 4th Print CGC 9.8 and TMNT #5 CGC 9.8? Thanks for any advice.

Up to you. People ask for a hyperinflated premium on yellow label signed tmnt books compared to their blue universal counterparts. I would keep them with CGC though personally.

Looks like I'll pass. I don't have any intention of selling these and can always wait to meet him in person one day to have something else signed.

I remember the first time I ever met Kevin in person. It was great. He's a really nice guy and very talkative. Loves interacting with his fans. He signed my second print and my casey jones, both of which that I got from Peter Laird. These books are priceless to me.

I then asked him twice to do a special commission for me of Casey Jones stealing the Batmobile. I asked him once in person, and again had Matt from Trinity Comics ask him... both times he turned the idea down. Said he wasn't sure how he'd do it... then 3 months later (9 months total if you count the first time I asked him) he told Matt at Trinity he would do it for me and this was the final outcome:

I think it's more memorable when you meet the creators in person, than doing an in-house signing event.

The first time I met him I couldn’t believe how nice he was. I kept telling him thank you and he finally replied I should be thanking you, a fan. That always stuck with me.

I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know how awesome Jim Lawson is. I had three copies of Michelangelo’s Christmas that I sent him. He signed each one and personalized them for my kids and then he sent it off to CGC for grading and paid for it. He is top notch and people like him made 2020 special for my family.

Super cool guy, Jim Lawson. I met him in Detroit in 2019. Aside from shooting the bull and having him sign books I got this specimen.

He wouldn’t charge for a signature either. I was an authorized witness and I forced him to take money for the books I was getting graded. I basically just walked away and left money on his table.

Wow Ryan Browne signatures are rare. Bravo! I don't even have a Ryan Browne signature. (Not to be confused with Marvel cover artist Ryan Brown) Ryan Browne designed a LOT of the Playmates Toys line from 1988-mid 90s and cartoon characters from the Fred Wolf cartoon.

Do you think it’s worth doing the Simon Bisley signing on all 4 issues of bodycount?

He doesn't sign often. Is there a signing coming up with him? If so, there will be hundreds of items on ebay within 6 months. He lives abroad overseas so I would if you can.
