Looking for a little assistance from the Forum:

If I were to send this in for the Gerry Conway signing, I assume the following is accurate?:

1. Conway will sign wherever on the cover he feels is most appropriate since I cannot provide a window bag in this case.
2. I'll get a Yellow Label with a VSP for Ploog and a ASP for Conway (annotated as such on label).
3. Comic will be regraded

Thanks folks.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
Sounds about right, although CBCS might make a window bag for you and therefore choose where Conway signs.

Did you say you can't provide a bag because it's already slabbed? I bet you could send a window bag along with the slab and have them use that.

"Books may be sent in slabs, however, CBCS does not guarantee that books cracked out of slabs will hold their grade. There will be no additional fee to remove books from the slab.
Please provide a window cut bag with backing board or a $5 fee per book will be charged to the CBCS invoice."

I met Mr Conway a few years ago. I was bagging a couple other books he signed and didn’t notice he signed a black cover with black marker. 😕

Oh my!
I suppose a yellow highlighter on a yellow cover could be worse?

It was a copy of Carnage 1 he did in 2002 I believe? It was the Nauck phantom variant asm 300 homage. He started the sig in the graphic but most of it was in the black border. I sold it because I couldn’t stand looking at it.

With that being said I still cherish the other 3 books I have signed by him. @Bronte has one of the 5 I had him sign personally. I wouldn’t trade my experience despite that one book.

A similar experience - I have a Marvel coffee table book signed by over 100 artists and writers - living and dead - including greats like Moebius, John Buscema, Stan, Colan, Heck, Ayers, you name it.

I was at a convention and went to Marie Severin to sign (bless her soul) and she was eating a pizza slice for lunch. She signed the hardcover and got pizza stains on the page she signed from her palm. My heart dropped at my pristine book. Flash forward 20 years now and it is an experience I will not forget and I often chuckle at now, and tell friends about.

I suppose the last question I have is will CBCS be ok with signing the inside of the comic on the indicia 1st page?

The MS #2 I bought with the Ploog signature, so it's already defaced and don't mind another defacement on the cover.

But I have an Amazing SM 129, Ms. Marvel #1, SM 121 and a few other high grade keys that I will ONLY accept on the interior of the book.

So if that is possible, even for an additional fee, I'd love to hear so. Else they stay with me when I see Gerry at a Convention in the future.

I'd prefer to avoid a train wreck of retaining wall graphitti that looks like this <choke, vomit>
