Definitely an interesting set. Harvey was trying to diversify at that time with Alarming Adventures #1 and the return of the Black Cat. They were also beginning to expand the number of 25 cent giants they were publishing each month. By the mid 1960s they would achieve market domination in the area of giant sized comics. Many collectors do not realize just how successful Harvey was back then. Believe me, both Marvel and DC WISH they were able to sell as many double priced, double sized comics as Harvey did in the 1960s.

I remember the first time I saw one of those publisher books; I didn't know they existed, and I thought "Holy cow - this is the giant comic to end ALL giant comics!"

A whole summer of happy reading in one ginormous/encyclopedic tome...

I think the biggest comic I'd seen before then was one of those huge St. John Little Audrey remainder books, but hard as those are to find, getting a set from the publisher files must be all but impossible.

@michaelekrupp I have to admit I did spend a few minutes last night on Ebay figuring how one buys Harvey bound volumes and how much they cost. Pretty cool.

Thanks fellas 😊. If anyone is interested in actually owning a very rare piece of comics history I have one of my duplicate sets on EBay right now. Auction ends on Sunday night. I am not so sophisticated as to be able to provide a link but if you search “Harvey bound volume” you will find it easily. I also have another extra set that I was planning to list next week but if anyone is interested feel free to PM me.

thanks. Always a tougher book in higher grades. I didn't think my raw would make an 8.0, so I opted for a slabbed one.

Dude... the What-If 28 is beautiful. I’m a sucker for yellow covers no matter the book. So much so I’m thinking of starting a yellow cover collection. This will go on the list.
