I think you might need to add a little info about how good of a condition or how much you're willing to spend on a better copy.

Good luck on this, he's gonna be pumped!

from my research (because this is not my hobby) - Hulk 181 - at least a 5 with MVS intact and for the Giant size - 6 or 7.

Also try on the Facebook group "Hulk 181 Club". And of course, bidding aggressively on ebay if all else fails. Good luck! I have both comics... in 0.1 condition though- those are more like 1 year anniversary gifts

The internet is full of all 3...Hulk 181s, Giant Size X-men 1, and women of our dreams.
Ebay would be a good starting point for serious buyers.

thanks everyone - been outbid on Heritage Auctions and I'm a bit suspicious of Ebay - I think there are plants in there jacking up the prices ..... I'll post everyone on my progress

You can try comiclink and comicconnect. They have buy it now and auctions. The grades of raw comics aren't accurate so I would suggest getting a slab CGC or CBCS. I would personally avoid anything PGX. They do charge sales tax based on your state.

E-bay is safe. Just buy from someone with 100% feedback and at least 100+ transactions (minimum).

I don’t think buyer’s can see a seller’s number of transactions. Maybe you mean 100+ number of feedbacks?

@CaptainCanuck Yes, (100) minimum feedback and 100% positive.

On Ebay I like to also look at the sellers other listed items to get comfortable. If the other items tell a consistent story, I'm good, even if the feedback is a little lower than I would want.

If you're on someone's feedback page there should be a few tabs right above the list of specific comments that someone has received. It defaults to 'All received Feedback' and below that will have the overall number. Mine says 470 feedback received (viewing 1-25), for example. But there's another tab that says 'Received as a seller' and if you click on that it will tell you their number specifically for selling. Mine updates to 76. I think those numbers are low because they're limited to the number of feedback, not the number of sales, but should still give you an idea of how many sales someone is making.
