Help Identifying signature Longshot 1/612931

Collector Remz private msg quote post Address this user
Any help identifying signature with initials GAC would be really appreciated. I looked in the book and none of the artists matched those initials. I checked the other posts on this forum and none of the sigs matched this one.

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
My best guess is a quickly scribbled Ann Nocenti.

I think it's an old Art Adams sig, but I couldn't google enough examples to 100% convince myself. He signs differently now.

Actually, I’m thinking that’s a quick Arthur Adams. He tends to date all of his.

For reference, this one has Adams and Nocenti.

Thanks but What is the "G" and "C" (last name)? Did Arthur Adams go by a different name before?Quote:

I don’t think they’re Gs or Cs, actually. To me, it looks like giant lowercase As. What looks like the capital A in the first name is probably the T in Arthur. Likewise, the “C” is probably another A followed by a D.

@Magellan Thanks. I can see that. Appreciate the close look. I'm hoping to find an example similar to this one if anyone has one available. Thank you all. I really appreciate everyone's really fast and thoughtful responses.

@Remz no problem! I wouldn’t have thought it was Adams at first glance, but the placement of the name (first name on top, last name slightly indented below it) along with the addition of the date makes me think it’s probably him.

To answer your question, no, this is not where the comics go to die. MutantMania private msg quote post Address this user
Of course I could be wrong but I don't think that is an Adams signature. Not even anything close to what I can find and when he did sign with a date he normally only put the month and year.

I'm really curious to know who it is though?

This is the one I found, which seems to be someone else asking if it's a real Art Adams sig. Not the most conclusive evidence. But the dates happen to be around the same time, and I struggle to think of what value a fake Art Adams signature would have.

If so it's disappointing but at least it was signed on first page instead of on the cover.

@Remz no, there are no comments there as far as I can tell, so I don't know that the reddit comic is fake. My comment was more that it's probably a real signature because I don't know why someone would fake it. If that's how Art used to sign, then yours is also probably real.

@xkonk, thanks for the clarification. Your signature find seems closest to what I have. I'm debating on submitting to CBCS but if it's fake I'll just keep it raw.
