The reason there were no issues with Scarlett is because she's the Black Widow...a trained killing machine...a super assassin...Shuri is a genius on par with Tony Stark but she's probably 90 pounds. The physical component required to be Black Panther is not there.

We just have Shuri reverse engineer the super soldier serum from Caps blood.

Problem solved!

Kevin Feige, have your people call my people...

Yes, that would be a way to do it.

She's gonna have to bulk up for that.

They'll just have her train with the old East German Olympic coaches. They'll get her bulked up.

She’ll just plug herself into the matrix.

“Woah. I know Kung fu.”

In all seriousness, I know it’s a hard sell, but I wouldn’t say any harder than Buffy, Black Widow, Willow or anything JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon does with his female protagonists.

At this point, I’ll wait and see what they do.

If they go with her, then I’m sure they’ll tweak things to where it’s narratively satisfying for most.

At the end of the day, it’s just fiction, so other than some cheeky responses, I don’t have a dog in the fight.

It’s all fiction anyway. Easy to correct.

Easy to correct, or easy to remove a specific gravity to the prior film?

I'm not a fan of 'undoing' things like that. If the MCU wants to stay relevant, they can't just slap their legacy films in the face.

Re-casting T'Challa is probably the most pragmatic thing that they can do.

If they had to go on a dangerous mission to retrieve the herb, it would remove nothing from the prior film.

All said and done, it’s one possibility.

Not sure if you saw Captain America, but the bulk seems to come from the serum.

Steve was easily the same size as Shuri before the serum.

Not as pragmatic as simply re-casting the main character.

Just FYI: The serum isn't real. She would have to bulk up in real life to convey any sort of physical presence...

Yes, I think we all know the serum isn’t real.

I’m pretty sure we were all talking in the context of the movie. Not sure why you switched gears there, but whatever floats your boat.

Besides, even with CGI, she wouldn’t necessarily have to bulk up.

Well just have to agree to disagree here...

Lol I didn't "switch gears". Shuri is played by a woman. Said woman will have to bulk up if it's to be believed that she took the Super Soldier Serum.

Black Panther #25: "THE FINAL ISSUE OF TA-NEHISI COATES' LANDMARK RUN!
It's the end of an era for the Black Panther as renowned writer Ta-Nehisi Coates concludes his Wakandan epic! Over four years, Coates has taken the Black Panther to hell and back and expanded Wakanda into the distant stars. Now, in his final issue, he brings T'Challa full circle, back to the home he left behind…and the crown he has never fully accepted. This is the story of a king who sought to be a hero, a hero who was reduced to a slave, a slave who advanced into legend…and the man who has struggled to hold up an empire in his bare hands. The journey will conclude, but the legend remains. Don't miss the close of a historic epoch in comic history!"
