Voting is closed. We have a designer working on our labels now. I'll share more info soon. |

I predict the votes on these particular logos will be all over the place, with no clear winner. I think they are too close to each other and - sorry to say - fairly mediocre. Even my own vote changed from moment to moment somewhat. But if the powers that be want a label that is simpler, these will do it. And perhaps that is what is needed, if they are using holofoil (or whatever it's called) on the actual cases. I can see that being a problem with the old label. |

Yes, they really need to get itright this time. Whatever the new logo is, it will not be better than the original logo, so hopefully the general design and appeal makes up for it.

I put my vote in for 1B, I guess I can disclose it since it's closed now. Honestly, shield logos are difficult, there really aren't that many great ones out there. A more simple, flat design to the label with a nice font will go a long way.

We are waiting on the designer to finish the next step. We were hoping to have a label by the time NYCC got here, but coming down to the wire decided to not rush the end result once the deadline for NYCC arrived. We're close now. It won't be much longer, but we are not going to rush it at this point. |

Quote:Originally Posted by Mio I think they do, but oh, man, are they dragging it out. Three months since the disastrous "surprise" release and I had to put my orders on hold. Seven weeks since Steve told us "expect to hear something in the coming weeks." And, in a p/m, the customer service person I'm talking to said "there should be a visible image of what our new labels are going to look like within the next 2-3 weeks." That was three and a half weeks ago. @SteveRicketts - can you tell us about when the supply of the "new" label will run out? That might at least give us an idea how long this whole thing will drag out. Or is that unrelated? All this hassle and delay is really sucking the joy out of my first submission. I mean, all we're doing right now is waiting to see if the new new label is an adequate replacement for the one that was sold to us. (And one that looks fantastic, by the way. Don't discount the importance of aesthetics.) It's almost guaranteed that the new label will be some level of disappointment. (Although it is ALSO guaranteed that the new label will be an improvement on the frankenlabel.) Steve, I really would urge you guys to rethink the "no one will ever get the old label again, ever" policy. Is it really so hard to run off a few thousand of those, and actually fulfill the orders you took before the secret switch? |

Here is the beauty of all the people having their orders held by cbcs or CFP in an effort to wait for néw labels. I submitted two orders under the 4 to 6 week envelope less that 2 weeks ago and they are already in the grading room as of last week. I think it was 11 days from the time they recieved to grading email notification to be exact. By all means move my stuff to the front of the line, because in the end, months or years from now none of the label stuff will make a difference in the value of my books. No one is going to look at the cbcs label now, then, or the future label and say, "No sir, I won't buy it or collect that comic book due to the label." BTW I have two larger orders as well in the 8 to 12 week window, please move them up for grading as well. Thanks peace out (mic drop) |

Quote:Originally Posted by earthshaker01 Uh, I actually don't think that's true. If the label is ugly, that will, in fact, shift demand left. That lowers the price the market will bear. Just look at values of PGX books. This is, clearly, a different situation. But it does lend evidence that not all slabs and grades are created equal. No one with good taste wants the current label displayed. I display my slabbed books, I don't want them to look terrible. |

@MR_SigS explain why this is nothing like buying a PGX comic, when trying to compare a label's estetic. We all k kw why no one wants pgx and it has nothing to do with their label. I don't have time, got to mow lawn.

So an Action comics #1 9.0 graded by cgc, with their current label would be more valuable than the same comic removed from cgc case, and then put in cbcs case with current label? Well to all who believe that send me your lists of comics with the current cbcs label, and I will buy them at a reduced value based on the assumption the label affects the true value, and not the respected grading service. |

@MR_SigS yes. I just know you probably know all the past discrepancies with pgx better than I, and could really explain why a cbcs label vs. PGX is nor even on the same playing field.
