I can box them up and buy the shipping today, so I think it would have today's date on the waybill, but tomorrow would be the pickup. End of the month totally snuck up on me!

Pretty sure the postmarked date is what you have to worry about. If you can, print that sucker out tonight.

Good luck. I look forward to seeing what you submit.

I'm hoping I can get an official word from someone at CBCS soon because I don't want to send in this many books if I can't get the deal. I already assumed Dec 1974 was the cover date cut off, so I'm good there, but I really want to be sure I can get the 10% off +fast track as it's a $1682 bill, and I haven't even looked at shipping cost yet.

Not submitting anything too crazy:

Just got back to my house after a near 2 week mandatory evacuation due to wildfires. House and fortunately comix are safe but im afraid I missed the cut off date for this promo. should I mail them off anyway, perhaps with a note, and assume they will still give me the promo? What do y'all think?

Stupid question. I don't ship things from my desktop. I typically take my stuff to the USPS or UPS. but can you print out a shipping label tonight if you know the weight and dimensions of the box?

Edit

Went to usps site. Yes you can buy a label if you know dimensions.

I'm left to assume that books postmarked August 31st are PAST the cutoff and that Books after Dec 1974 cover date are not allowed.

Sitting here looking at a stack of 55 books to send in depending on the answers!

I dropped my books off at UPS on Friday, they only got scanned in today so I hope so too.

I have a few books hit grading today from a promo in May. I must have put in for the fast pass on pressing. It's going to be raining 10s

So, yeah...

Got the postmark for the 30th. Put waybill on the box and headed to post office the 31st. Place was super busy, line out the door. Box too big for drop off box, as it usually is. Go around the corner into the main service area past the line of people, mention its ready, but won't fit in the drop off. Clerk looks me in the eye and gives me a nod as I put it on the service counter and walk out. The exact same thing I, and everyone else at that post office has done dozens of times over the years with packages that won't fit the submission box.

I get home from the Covid19Zone and check online later that night... It's not scanned in yet. "Ah, ok, they're just behind", I figure. It says USPS still waiting for package. The next day, same thing. This morning, same thing. WTF?!!?

These are mostly books I bought off eBay, so even though I maxxed out the priority mail coverage at $5K, I've actually got about $7k or $8K sunk into the books inside the box, and if they grade out at what I believe they should, then we're talking around $15K worth.

I filed my concerns with USPS, and they said they'd look into it. This would be the first time anything like this has ever happened, I've dropped off dozens and dozens of packages in the same manner over the years, and at their staff's instruction. I can't believe it.

Really hoping USPS comes through and "finds" the package. The best part is I'm told that because I didn't actually get a receipt of acknowledgement, they may not honor any insurance claim. Awesome.

I need them to tell me what the deal is ASAP as I'd need to file a police report and then file a friggin' FOIA request to have them preserve surveillance tape.

Fun times!

I once had it take 3 days to show. Pre covid. I was sweating bullets. It eventually came up and all went well. Hopefully same goes to you.

On a different USPS dilemma, I had a package go out for delivery and poof it disappeared. I have no idea who it was from or what it contained. I had to wait before they could investigate it because it wasn't "lost" long enough....

I’m sure it will show up.

Happens up here as well, but that’s when the packages get too heavy and the dog sled falls through the ice.

Talked to the local postmaster, he admitted that they don't scan the stuff that's already got paid waybills on it, and the main sorting terminal in Santa Clarita only scans half the stuff due to the vast increase in the volume of mail and packages... He assured me that 99.999% it would get scanned once it hits the dallas terminal.

He was right, it arrived in Dallas last night and is already delivered to CBCS.

PHEW!

Now, to say goodbye to my $2000 in grading fees!

XM107, did you get your 35c variant?

You like UKPV's? I've got a CGC 6.5 FF4 #9 laying around somewhere if you're interested. Got it off Heritage about 6 months ago, I have no idea why the hell I bought it. Maybe because UKPVs are crazy undervalued.

I pick up UKPVs when they are cheap and in decent condition but I don't think I've bought any in a few months. It's not that I don't want to but I'm working on some other goals so I cut some spending for a bit plus the dollars to UK pounds conversion was rough. If something has a pence equivalent, I'll look for it, but the only things I'm currently working on pence-wise is my X-Men run. Mostly looking for anything #89 and before. I do agree about them being undervalued. They don't get the love that Canadian price variants or newsstand books get.

I did end up with a 107 35 center, but the one I submitted was just a random one I had sitting in my X-Men box. If it ends up with an 8.5 or 9.0, I'll be happy with it.

I submitted last minute for the VINTAGE2020 sale. Tracking shows that the comix arrived at CBCS Wednesday night. still have not been marked as received as of Friday morning. Is this normal? I imagine they get loads of boxes every day so they might have just not gotten to mine yet. this is only my 2nd submission so im still getting aquatinted with the process.

I sent my order in also last mine. My books were delivered also on Wednesday and this morning they were marked as received and my CC charged. It usually takes them 2-3 days from delivery to received. Yours will most likely pop up later today I would assume worse case on Tuesday. I'm sure they are probably closed Monday for holiday.
